We thank you for your advice. We have read this repeatedly. Most Members try their best to adhere to your advice.

Not all are aware who is a troll. Members who are new, like the threadstarter for sure not.

 

Unfortunately, the moving of the thread to the Flaming Room seems unfair to the innocent Members.

 

My questions are then:

1. Why was the thread moved to the Flaming Room if you are aware the problems were only initiated by that troll?

2. Why weren't the trolling and irritating posts from that troll simply been deleted away (or just the trolling parts moved to the Flaming Room).

3. Why are always the Members punished but not the troll?

=> It is unfair to these threadstarters if their threads are disrupted and moved to the Flaming Room, when only one known troll came up to disrupt the discussions.

 

By moving such threads to the Flaming Room you are only feeding the troll, because

(a) he was successful in disrupting the thread and discussion, and

(b) he won his game!

 

 

Ignoring the root cause of the problems for more than 12 years will not achieve what you aim for.

The old method does not work any longer. BW needs to come up with better solutions to this issue.

 

Don't permit one troll to disrupt the Forums at BW.

 

There have been plenty of Members who "banged" their heads to make a better BW and came up with various suggestions:

Sure some things had changed the past months:

 

Once trolling posts or rules violating Guest posting had been posted, either the posts were deleted immediately or the complete thread was moved to the Member Lounge to avoid further disruptions.

 

(See GE2020 discussion, Covid-19 thread, and the one of the cruising of Ang Mohs just to name a few).

 

Therefore, you can't say nothing has happened and you can't say the Moderators did not take some "takeaways" from this discussion here.

 

In fact, I thought the Main Forum was less critical and received less irritating or disrupting posts from Guests at least over the past 1 month.

 

Just recently one of the trolling Guests reappeared on the scene again.

 

As up to 5 people can meet currently during the Covid-19 restrictions, maybe the team of Moderators can have a meet up and make draw some conclusions on the proposals.

 

I would hope some of the proposals can be implemented.
