I've accidentally stumbled onto this stall awhile back, and the rather strange combination is still sitting oddly somewhere in my taste buds.

It's a very interesting take on a simple dish we've known so well. It's strange but doesn't mean it's bad.

The coffee shop at Block 133 Ang Mo Kio Street 12, the stall is run by an elderly couple. They now only operate on weekends.

Can I confirm with you that this stall only opens on weekends and not weekdays?  Looking for good popiahs around AMK or Serangoon North area.  Thanks!

The last time I visited the store, I found out that it only operates on weekends. I also heard that they have to take care of their grandchildren during the weekdays, leaving them available to operate the store on weekends.

Though a bit late to respond, I realised that this has been a childhood stall I used to patronise when I was a kid! It was $0.60/pc back then! I recall their egg ingredients were fried into golden threads, with bits of beancurd and the crispy flour(?) bits. Brings back so much childhood memories of the snack. Anyone knows if the old couple is still operating there?

Another of my fav popiahs from KL - Sisters Crispy Popiah. Though I feel their quality dropped ever since they made the business into a franchise. They were very popular when they were operating at ICC Pudu and I would always visit them when @ KL.
