Other than my own family member.  I only have two contact list, my electrician, and my plumber.   Anyone not in my contact list, will be met with "user not available" as message.

  • G_M changed the title to Do u answer calls that are not from your contact list?

I will pick up any call. it is not always possible for every caller to have their ID installed. Sometimes it could be from some friends who have changed their phone number or the banks or work etc...  otherwise it is no point having a mobile phone.  It is frustrating to call someone and the other party just don't pick up. What is there to be scared of?

If the caller is not desirable, I just let the party know. It's not that hard work.

If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.

I get about 10 robocalls each day.  Unless I recognize the number,  I let my answering machine deal with calls.

This used to upset me, but now my sometimes rush to the phone to see who is calling I accept as "exercise".

Spare us your nightmare of keeping those landline analog, monotone phone.

What is a "monotone phone"?  a boring one?

More and more home phones who used to be on an analog landline are now "telephone over the internet" that may be added to an internet service.  They are still stationary on some desk, so like Moses came to the Mountain instead of the Mountain to Moses,  you have to walk to the phone to use it.   But this is no nightmare, except if you get a call middle in the night! 😄

So many spam calls lately and I'm ignoring and blocking most of the calls but I'm applying for a job too. Difficult to filter legit calls from spams.

Just to be more extra careful when answering calls, this is the only thing you can do.

I am so keen about recruiter calling and won't feel hurt if I missed it.  9 out of 10 time they have nothing brilliant to offer and at most a waste of time to see their stone faces.   I only answer call directly from company where my applications were send directly to.

Mostly yes, but if it is a scam call, I’ll just hang up immediately instead of wasting my time. I mean the authorities don’t even really care, because if they care they could easily block these dubious calls.

I am a 24 years old guy, just wanting to know more friends..

Is Singapore the only country where spam calls are prevalent? Was there a connection between the surge of immigrants and anything that needed digital payment? Even now, only paynow and credit card "tapping" are accepted when borrowing books from the library; NETs are not.  Bank now also requires login through apps, and physical token is scrapped. Did we unintentionally reveal our private information when we used our phones to scan certain promotional ads or make digital payments? It is eerie that occasionally I don't trust official messages with links attached since I can't discern the difference between real and fraudulent messages.  If scammer can easily cheat CPF to release your money,  there is nothing you can stop them from accessing your bank.
