Even my malaysian colleague in his own country got snatched and dragged a few metres before his strap broke. When it happens fast you lose your balance, hard to execute any Wing Chun heroics. This is true on some countries. Others will slash you backpack without you realizing it until you want to check your stuff and then it is too late. It does look funny but quite normal on a few countries.
