Chua Enlai too

i heard Joshua Ang is also aj

basically, at mediacorp, just assume they are all gay and then be surprised if they aren't

heard from masseurs that mediacorpse management also patronized home massage. No names were mentioned but they are those you-know-who by one-look.

Seems like the show not bad eh, got cuties.

LOL the gay one is written there together with Blowing Wind Gay Forum..

Qi Yu Wu quite cute mah.. :) Love his bod too.. Yah i know his gay cause my friend told me he marry to Xie Shao Guan.. Dunno true or not..

I find Qi Yu Wu bod a bit fake, esp the chest area. So he is also gay eh?

Posted

never liked 715, the way he speaks is weird, his acting just average...and his face isn't appealing....bod is good though but many actors have good bods...what's so special about him?

he must have pulled some strings and did some pillow talk to get more screen time..

Posted

Yes, he is not the best. But really, there aren't many great local actors too.

Many may have gymmed and have a great bod, but mostly either have average acting skills or cannot speak mandarin fluently. Hence not a good candidates for movies, more so overseas markets.

I thought he is with Raintree Danial Yun?

who is danial yun??

Everywhere is the same. It is not how hardworking or smart you are, it is how good at sucking up to your boss (who you know) that allows u to survive. Sadly, in most companies, you need to be the blue eye boy inorder to survive. Likewise, in acting, it is not how good u are bt who you know or rub shoulder with. If he happens to be the top few guns in the company, you will get all the plum role. Noticed some of the actors/actresses who are very good are still not getting lead roles!

Hi Everybody,

yeah. when she speaks, she can't seem to open her mouth..which make it look a little weird.

HELLO ~~~ TV drama is not stage performance where you need to exaggerate your mouth when you speak or sing, you facial expression to show emotion, you hand and body gesture etc. You're looking for 黄奕良 style? where Eye-wide-opened, loud mouth when speaking? hahahaha ...

she definitely has the talent and passion for acting. I'm happy to see where she is today. For the breakout, she took on the role well, but then i can't help laughing at her bi polar acting. especially in the scheme when she is trying to kidnap guoliang's lover, that's so cynically funny! go jeanette!

Yah, I always look forward to her scenes, which are very interesting to watch. Plus her "PRC accent" is a hoot (no I'm not being sarcastic)!

Her acting was okay to fare but I feel that she talks as tho she's just reading out loud her lines from the script without putting in emotions. She always speak in a sort of "monotonous" voice when she is acting, even from her role in Little Nyonya.

Am not a fan of Jeanette, neither a fan of Channel 8. However, i must really say her acting did improve. I happened to caught an episode of the swimming show, featuring Jeanette, Fiona, Qi Yuwu. Oh my, back then she was really still very raw?

I think in this show, lots of actors are using their eyes? DYT, Guo Liang, Jeanette are all using their eyes to bring out the character. Oh, they are "one family" in this show. Hmmm...

Kudos also to Christopher Lee, who managed to infuse emotion and gravitas into a somewhat two-dimensional character.

Jeanette was really really good this time round. Though at the 1st few episode she seems to be spastic. But she really make it so lively and captured lots of attention in the show compare to her last drama. I like her the best during that scene she acted as the wax statue hahaha...not being sarcastic but i really felt acting as a lifeless thing is more challenging den a life one.....especially when u cant blink and partly becox thank goodness she dun have to speak( she sounds annoying at times )

Shes really good...next best actor should be Elvin Ng as Zou Jiemin,.,,..sooooooo cute :)

I like her when she behaves like a unreasonable ill mannered b!tch.

I don't see how any voters would not feel that Rui En is clearly the best actress of 2010 with three very diverse roles which she aced with aplomb, giving each role much dignity and depth. She deserves the best actress hands down, sorry Jeanette i like her in Breakout as well but it would be a travesty if Rui En fails to win the best actress.

It's Jeanette we're talking about in this thread, who gives a shiit about Rui En? Her performance in all 3 dramas are frankly overrated. Maybe the only one worth a nomination is Unriddle but thats about it.

Quit being so juvenile and offensive, as adults can't we all discuss things in a cordial and civilized manner.

I understand that the thread starter initated the thread to praise Jeanette's performance but this is a public forum afterall, and im sure we all understand that a forum is open to discussion and debate, not merely for the purpose of unabashed glorification of a certain artiste. And im not even bashing Jeantte, i said that she did a pretty good job but i don't find her performance phenomenal and deserving of the best actress award.

And since a few others mentioned about the star awards and Jeanette's chances of winning the coveted best actress award, i reckon i have not digressed by much by expressing who i feel genuiely deserves the award. I definitely respect your opinion that Rui En's performances are frankly overrated but i believe that the general consensus within the industry is that she has pulled off a near miraculous feat tackling three very diverse and challenging roles and nailed magnificently and that was why i said that it would be hard to imagine any of the professional voters not thinking that she was praiseworthy.

I agree. She is utterly compelling in this role, which has the effect of making her previous filmography and that of her recent peers fade completely into the background. It will be hard for her to top this role. She will be a serious contender for Best Actress this year.

Dear Joanne, I'm sorry to say that despite your efforts, the show was a victim of a very poor script and cliche story line...

and really poor acting by some of your colleagues

I think that is for the viewers to decide themselves. The show didn't really show if Zhou Jie Ming died or not.

But I would like to think that he died else Xiao Ying wouldn't talk to the sky saying "Zhou Jie Ming, wo kan dao le". Then she walked slowly into the tunnel, stopped suddenly, and stared at Zhou Jie Ming LOL. Hallucination or staring at a real person? Btw the scottish clothes he wore can fit him ah? 1 size fits all?

Why would a person his age try to achieve with all these efforts and outcome? To tell people that he is determined?

Mediacorp actors should seriously look and re-look at their acting skills; despite winning local awards which do not tell much abt their acting skills, every time when there is a foreign actor/actress co-acting in a local production, the contrasting poor acting skills of our mediacorp actors are so apparent!!

unfortunately mediacock doesnt care about acting skills, their top priority is to get the hunkest and prettiest to front the screen. Hence we have plenty of drama starring those good looking but cant really act or even speak their dialogue well.

Unlike HK or Taiwan, where veterans were the limelight. Even in Korea, stars have to go through tremendous training even if they were super goodlooking.

To mediacock, acting skills can be horned in future. However looking at the recent shows, those new stars really take forever to do so.

Hence for Ge Ping, he needs to be unique in Mediacock, and being in tip top condition does open up new opportunities for him.

Mediacock's priority is not to front the hunkiest and prettiest in their productions. Like any media company, they are only interested to earn the viewership of their productions and the revenue from commercials thereafter. Unfortunately, our viewers are more interested in looking at pretty babes and hunks. We needn't look far. Just go to the flaming room and take a look at the recent thread.

Question: Are viewers in Singapore genuinely keen on good acting skills?
