mith Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 just started on the 9pm new show HOME AGAIN! the story intrigued me... very happy to see Lina Ng again. always think she is a very very competent actress. ZWL seems just warming up, not into element yet. the leads are 30+++, YaHui, Des Tan all casted right and feel natural to watch. YH younger brother 20+ casting Edwin also feel very apt. Lina n Richard playing 50+++ looks right too. only PP underplay by more than 10+++ years. although PP looks good, a bit hard to swallow. a bit on the kidnapping... it was very common in the 70s in HDB neighbourhoods according to my mum, esp children of that age in the beginning of the show... and then sold to nearby countries underworld syndicate as gang members to serve the gang leader! the story though happen in 1997. will continue to follow the show... mith Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 HOME AGAIN... finished all of last week episodes. i remembered for many years around CNY, mediacorp would release a drama with a HOME theme storyline. i think i watched many of them over the years, and remembered being touched somewhat. HOME AGAIN sets out to the same effect. many likes. i particularly like ep 3 when the lost boy, now man (desmond tan), identity is revealed and brought home. the interaction scenes with richard (father), and yahui (sister) were poignant. many likes. PP a bit tough to carry a role thats more than a decade younger. but i'll digress given his good looks. i also much prefer watching/seeing desmond tan on screen in character compare to his social media posts that are almost always OTT. edwin also quite praise worthy here playing the invisible son. i remember in her heyday, ZWL can tackled very dramatic roles with ease, but lately, she was the comical relief. wasted. still not in her element yet. will watch on... Because the previous show 21.0 set a high standard, so this show appears to be very average.
