I have data within the harddisk that need to be destroyed before disposal. I searched online but look like most offered such services to companies instead of consumers. Thanks! Usually I will destroy it by bending and breaking the hard drive wherever I can, using screwdriver and hammer. JK2E4 Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 (edited) Perform a reformat on the drive (recreate the partition if you want), disassemble the hard disk, take out the platter and scratching the platter surface would technically destroy any chances of getting any data from it.
