cooking with a basic rice cooker

if the rice cooker does not have any fancy functions like stew / soup, what will happen if u tried to follow those recipes that require stew / cook function to cook a dish?

 

will it spoil the rice cooker?  or it just dries up etc?

No frills rice cooker can be used beside cooking plain rice. 
1. Use it for steaming food

2. Bake steam cake

3. Cook one pot rice with a mixture of your favourite ingredients etc
