Buy first car, house then rest will be for charity

Buy a house or two to generate rent. Sit out, swim, sleep, savour the 100% full ownership of my time and energies for the rest of eternity (alas, just a distant dream)

If have lots of money, buy 2 good returns property and rent them out to generate income. Keep the rest of money as it is good to have cash on hand.

If you get a lot of money,Ā  will you start thinking hard what to do...

or will you immediately plan to end what you don't want to do,Ā  like rushing every morning to the office and put up with that horrible boss?

Open a char siew rice stall and work 24hour that s what a guy who won toto one million did.

Pay and buy my time.. ie free up my time so I can do things I want to do. And pay people to do things I don't want to do.Ā  Splurge on my my friends and relatives and buy things for them that they would not normally buy or pay for.Ā  Sizeable portion goes to charity/charitable works.

Why not?Ā  I will rush to the office and play horrible with the horrible boss until he kneels before me and ask for mercy.

What is considered "a lot"?Ā Ā  In poor country, $50,000 is life changer.Ā  In Singapore $5 million is life changer.Ā In happy Scandinavian nations, people don't require as much because the government takes care of all of their fundamental necessities.

Here are some ideas:

Ā

Donate to a charity: Consider donating to a charity or cause that you are passionate about, such as education, healthcare, or the environment. Your donation could help improve the lives of others and make a positive impact in the world.

Ā

Invest in your future: Consider investing your money in a way that could provide financial security for you and your loved ones, such as buying property, investing in stocks or mutual funds, or starting a business.

Ā

Travel and explore: Use your money to explore new places, cultures, and experiences. Traveling can be a great way to broaden your horizons and gain new perspectives.

Ā

Pursue your passions: Use your wealth to pursue your hobbies or interests, such as art, music, or sports. You could take classes, hire a coach or mentor, or start your own project.

Ā

Help others: Use your money to help others in need, such as family members, friends, or even strangers. You could pay for someone's medical bills, help a struggling small business, or provide assistance to someone who is homeless or in need.

Ā

Remember, having a lot of money comes with a great responsibility to use it wisely and make a positive impact in the world.

Indeed. If I have the money, I will donate to gay church,Ā  made myself a senior pastor and spread the gospel that SALVATION cannot be found through marriage nor one man one woman relationship AND eternal life does not come from having children.Ā Ā  Too bad I am not rich, so single will have to continue facing biased judgementĀ  everywhere.

If I had a lot of money, I would use it to explore the world at my own speed,t all these obscure locations and small-plane routes on << SPAM ADVERTISEMENT LINKĀ  EDITED AWAY>>Ā one evening,Ā  It helped me understand that true adventure is about freedom and untold tales that can only be found off the usual route, not luxury.

Think again. None of the extremely affluent people I have known or seen in my life have ever had a dream like yours. The majority of them desire to be surrounded by ass kissers, live in large houses, have their own yatch, exquisite dining, investments, and fantastical assets.Ā  Most people who aren't so wealthy have reached your kind of goal with a map, a backpack, and the courage to travel across difficult terrain, inclement weather, and strange foods.Ā  A truly wealthy person wouldn't want to take another hardship route.Ā

If I had that kind of money, I would buy a yacht and sail across the world. I would take my time, explore different places, meet locals and try different foods.

Ā

I share your avoidance of luxury.Ā  Only those who have not reached a true understanding of life seek luxury.Ā  Maybe nowadays with a little awareness we can have adventure, freedom and untold tales on our usual route.

I think that "a lot of money" can vary widely,Ā  depending on the individual.Ā  In general, there is a limit in the practical value of money. This is the amount that will satisfy our needs and desires throughout our whole life.Ā  But for many, "a lot" means much, much more than that.Ā  And many of us, we have never experienced in adult life a shortage of money.Ā Ā

Ā

Personally,Ā  I have never devoted energy in thinking and planning what I would do if I had unlimited amount of money.Ā  I find this irrelevant.Ā  What I find relevant is what to do with the amount of life time we have available.Ā

If you win big lottery, you should have the wisdom to immediately redeem your freedom.Ā  From there, follow your instincts and know what you should do.Ā  You will probably divide some of the windfalls with your cherished siblings and save the remainder for a comfortable lifestyle.Ā  Ā At Singapore's cost of living, $1 million only scratches the surface, thus you really need to win at least $2 million.Ā  It's advisable to stay in HDB and manage your money even if you have $4 million. You should also question why hawker charged you $20 for a plate of nasi lemak even when you are very wealthy.Ā  Ā Nobdoy, regardless of weatlh status, deserves to be exploited by businessmen.Ā

How much is a lot? Assuming $1million, I’d stay put at the same house. Maybe do some mini renovations. And travel as I use to. Setup a small company.

1mil? I quit my job n wake up naturally at home without alarm clock. Buy another property n rent out for my daily expenses n of course for monthly charity as many in need of financial help out there.Ā

Wah, if I really got a lot of money, first thing I want is to stop waking up to alarm clock lor. Then I will buy my parents a nice condominium, and tell them no need to work already, just go eat dimsum every morning can already. I also want to treat my friends to supper at hawker centre, but I pay for everything including the tissue paper ah. Maybe open . . . äøŖ小小ēš„ kopitiam stall selling my grandmother’s recipe, but no need to earn money, just for the love of cooking. And hor, I will travel slowly, like stay one month in Hokkaido eating ramen, then next month in Melbourne jalan jalan. Most importantly, I will help people anonymously like pay school fees for some poor kid, or donate to old folks’ home, but don’t want my name anywhere or any plaque.

Ā

At the end of the day, I just want to sleep peacefully knowing I got time, health, and people who care about me,Ā  that one is richer than any bank account lah.

Must see how much is the money first. Confirm debt free first. Secondly quit my job. Thirdly, a lot of 100k put into SDIC account and some to tbills and Singapore bonds. Balance divided into monthly from now to 65 years old (after 65 enjoy cpf money), some for spendings, some to topup cpf, some to put into SrS.

Ā

BUT STILL, LET ME HAVE THE MONEY FIRST....
