port23
Hi, I need some help here - I am selling my Macbook to my friend. Can someone advise me how I can "reformat" my harddisk so that I can completely erase all data on the harddisk? Thanks.Just use the Install Disc and do a 'Clean Install'. Everything will be erased and the system will start fresh, like what you get out of the box.

Guest Guest
Dell, HP, Acer all these brands are just LABELS.They sell the pcs based on their branding but their internal components like HDD, memory etc are sourced from different manufacturers and built by ODM.so its wrong to say DELL is good or lousy, HP is better or worst....coz in fact, both the internal components could be built using the same hdd, memory etcs. Whether the computer breaks down or wat, depend on the HDD they brought from to make into your pc.Seriously i have no problem with using Windows all my life..dunno wats the big deal w MAC. totoro69
as i am typing this thread, i have been put on hold for more than 1 hour :swear: its kinda ridiculous to experience this (and this is my 4th time calling to check on the delivery status). I made a mistake in my purchase order and as a result, i had to send in some documents to verify my purchase.i am not sure if this is happening to all apple hot lines. if so, i really have second thoughts about it.are you guys experiencing the same as me? any way to wake the Apple management up and do something about it?!?! :yuk: :swear:
fuzzy
Dear totoro69,I am disheartened to see that you had a very bad experience with your Apple purchase. However, I have not experienced any problems with delivery from Apple. Actually, they constantly gives me updates on my delievery status and also informs me when I am expecting my delivery. I recently purchased a iMac and did not have any problems with their delivery system. Instead of calling, have you tried emailing to them and raise your concerns to them? That may help a bit. Utopaen
@totoro: I had the same problem, but an email solved the issue. Calling in to Apple is at times quite tough, depends on ur luck, but having said that, everything i ordered did get delivered successfully. Also, i use transmission as my torrent client. totoro69
i believe this is the worst online purchase i made in my life so far - i place an order to purchase macbook pro on 5 sep. due to the fact that some particulars were incorrect, i was told to provide them with docs to verify my identity, and so i did, hoping i could get the item on time. but sad to say, after emailing the attachment to them, i din hear from the payment department anymore.for 2 days, on numerous occasions, i called and was on hold for more than an hour, i gave up and dropped the line.the item was suppose to be delivered to me on 8 sep, but i canceled the order on 7 sep since i din hear from anyone, hoping to put up a fresh request again.i was fuming when i discovered that my credit limit exceeded, and after calling the credit card centre, i got to know that Apple was holding on to the authorization to my purchase.to cut the story short, i spoke to telesale rep and tech support rep from Apple, they tried to put my case to the payment department, that was the only thing they could do. I went back to AMEX again, and they took up the case on my behalf. KUDOS to AMEX and :yuk: :yuk: :yuk: Apple PAYMENT DEPARTMENT!!!
