changing the power source on laptop to battery?

how do i make my laptop run on battery, please?  i set it to using direct power supply when i first bought it, but now i want to use it outside / unplugged.

 

where do i change that setting, please?  I tried system - power but i cannot find that option to make it operate using battery.

 

i only get the options below:

Have you tried unplugging the power source from the laptop to see if it will run from the battery? I don't think there is a setting on the laptop that disables battery running.

i did.  it just went dead

This means that the battery is probably no longer holding a charge. The battery needs to be replaced. How old is the laptop?

There isn't any command or way u can disable the battery from the laptop. 

1. Check your battery 

2. Check the battery connection

3. Format the laptop then check again
