You can use Apple Pay at cafes and restaurants in Tbilisi. As for moneychangers, it’s easier to bring USD/EUR and change there. I went in April 2017 and then in August 2025, so I haven’t experienced winter there. If you plan on going to the mountains, be sure to check if the roads are passable cos I went through the main military road in April and part of the landscape was still blanketed with snow. I generally didn’t have trouble there the both times I visited, though for some reason I was mistaken for a local or someone Caucasian (from the Caucasus) last year and almost ended up in an unpleasant situation. Food - you get traditional Georgian fare as well as some international offerings. I didn’t have any issues, even though I’m not wildly adventurous with what I eat. In terms of cost, some things are slightly cheaper than Singapore like a cafe latte, otherwise it’s comparable if I recall correctly. On average I spent 15-20sgd on lunch. You won’t be hit by Western or Northern European prices for sure. Getting around the country would mean marshrutkas (shared minivans that fill up before they leave), flying, buses in some instances. I can’t recall trains cos I didn’t take any. Russians - they exist. Many left the country to dodge being in the war against Ukraine. Hope this helps. Vometra and reece7700 1 1 Quote

People were nice and helpful. I went on a couple of group tours cos it was easier to reach far flung sites. There are these food court type places in Yerevan where you can eat cheap (under 10sgd), and elsewhere for double that amount. I travelled between Tbilisi and Yerevan in a van too, so if you need legroom, reach the boarding points early so you can secure a better seat (though generally the rides were comfy enough for me, and I’m 1.8m tall).
