yob_hcaeb Posted August 23, 2025 Posted August 23, 2025 (edited) During a recent breakup, while I was trying to patch things up, my boyfriend filed a protection order against me — all over a minor phone disagreement. He ignored my calls and texts, so I went to his place. His parent lied about him not being home and even tried to attack me with a stick. He finally came out to stop them — otherwise, I could have been seriously hurt. After I left, he called, speaking nicely and suggesting we meet to talk. That’s when I realized a police report must have been filed. I didn’t do anything wrong, yet I felt completely betrayed. I’ve tried to make things better, but he keeps making it worse. Everything he’s doing now — it’s the same things he did to me before, and now they’re being used against me. Should I consider filing a lawsuit? What would you do? cbm Posted August 23, 2025 Posted August 23, 2025 Hi there beach boy. I'm sorry that you're going through this. I think that instead of a lawyer, the person you should be talking to is a counsellor or a good friend. The relationship didn't work out and you need to let go. Yes it sucks. Yes it hurts. It will take time for you to heal. But if you pursue the lawsuit route, the only one that benefits are the lawyers (their fees are steep) Strange Fruit 1 Quote
yob_hcaeb Posted August 24, 2025 Author Posted August 24, 2025 I’ve let go. His words and actions were always contradicting, and his true character showed through. Love shouldn’t feel like constant hurt and confusion. I gave my best, but now I choose to walk away, heal, and focus on myself. m1ssjadeso and AgentFit 2 Quote

Will you check with the police if a protection order was placed against you? You should have the right to be informed about this, and, depending on its severity, be able to contest it with your own version of the events. If it WAS placed, this fact will show you that the person who did it is not worth your attention. Maybe you are able to file a counter - protection order against him, but in any case, erase him from your life if you can. Quote

He and his family hated you to the guts. Why are you still so sticky? Why??? Why?????? Why???????????? If I were you, I will treat him as non-existence. I will shun his entire tree of family from the face of the map. I will pray that he is migrated, he is married, has his own family and....and that he doesn't remember you at all, not from his personal history book. So, please do us a favour here, stop trying to file a lawsuit in the hope of sticking around. Quote

Sounds so familiar to this stalking story..... https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/courts-crime/yishun-death-prosecution-seeks-5-years-jail-8-strokes-of-the-cane-for Mr Rodriguez and Tay knew each other in 2006 when they were altar boys at the Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea in Yishun. Tay, however, left eight years later as he felt that Mr Rodriguez was "fixated" with him. Mr Rodriguez then tried to contact Tay by making frequent phone calls, and started loitering around the void deck of the latter's home at Block 279 Yishun Street 22. The prosecutors had said that in January 2016, Tay's mother, Madam Irene Ng, filed a magistrate's complaint against Mr Rodriguez.. Despite this, Mr Rodriguez continued visiting the Yishun flat....... doncoin Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 (edited) If you both agree to meet, it should be a neutral space, and ideally, with a mediator/counsellor. However, if your goal is to salvage the relationship, I think it is long past. It hurts now, and you spend your waking moments asking yourself, "why?" and run through every scenario in your mind, but it is not going to change reality. You just need to focus on what makes you better, without him. Learn to love yourself first. To get a protection order, the family or he, must prove or demonstrate that your presence endangers his safety or wellbeing. Furthermore, there must be some form of communication to you, not to communicate or bother him/family. He must show that despite telling you not to communicate anymore, you still engage in behaviors that crosses the line. Edited August 26, 2025 by doncoin Dashy_Boy and AgentFit 2 Quote Love.
yob_hcaeb Posted August 28, 2025 Author Posted August 28, 2025 Anyway, I’ve decided to give up. I tried everything I could to salvage the relationship — I pacified, compromised, gave in, and adjusted myself to his ways. None of it worked. This was the only relationship where I gave 200% of myself, yet it still wasn’t enough. P.s: I cant imagine such person can go hook up at this period.. Dinokumar77 1 Quote

You don't have to give 200% of yourself, you are in fact, saving 200% of yourself. So go be happy. yhtang and feilyxnixx 2 Quote Love.

Forgot where i saw this from but , If u like someone (and he likes u too) , it should only take at max 75% effort to get him. Anything more than that is a big nono. But then again , u urself need to know when to stop being too 'effort' , otherwise u might lose urself. K._ 1 Quote

yob_hcaeb Posted September 3, 2025 Author Posted September 3, 2025 I wonder if anyone else has been through something like this. Out of the three relationships I’ve had, this one hurt me the most and changed the way I see love. It made me realize that I no longer want to go through such pain again. I’ve come to accept that I won’t love again, and I feel at peace with that decision. For those still on their journey, I just hope you find the kind of love that doesn’t hurt, but heals. Quote

For those still on their journey, I just hope you find the kind of love that doesn’t hurt, but heals. Each stage of life has a different level of hurt, depending on how much you have experienced in life and how much you are now suppressed. Yes, a lot of factors are working together. I was hurt three times in dream-like relationships and twice in largely one-sided love encounters. I was also frequently hurt in toxic work conditions. My own family and so-called "friends" also caused me to feel ashame of who I am. It is through such hard encounters, my feelings of hurt have subsided quite naturally. Like a polished rock after going through violent tumbling. It has been more than 10 years avoiding gay and straight social activities, quitted my profession work, and reduced my circle of friends to none that I thought were true "friends". I embarked on a journey of loving myself. I am a proud, anonymous, carefree person today, that even important people have difficulty kissing my ass. You now see why I find your story funny; it reminds me of myself from the past, when I was naive and delusional about many things. In any case, I am still thrilled by many member sex and love stories in this forum, but often met with my rolling eyes behind the screen. Not because of disrespect, but I saw myself in the same silly boat before and it still gives me goosebumps.🙄 Edited September 3, 2025 by Why? Quote
