it seems like everyone and everything wants to embrace AI.  there is no escaping it.

 

but don't u think it is moving oo fast, too soon?

Singapore is a small sampan in a big ocean. We don't make waves but we must learn how to ride them. If we cannot ride the wave, then it will come crashing down on us.

 

The wave of AI is here and we have to learn how to use it, whether we like it or not. 

 

Have you not seen local AI generated pay gorn? It's so damn hot leh.

AI is just revolution that we need to embrace and come out stronger from.

 

Its like dot.com, industrial automation - all these digitalisation phase, we manage to augment jobs with technology and become more productive.

 

The faster we master, the more value added you can contribute in your job and personal lifes.

I am quite certain my low end job will be replaced in due course by AI. Hopefully I will get a nice retrenchment benefit. Too old to upskill and transform.

 

Maybe boss will keep some of us around. Can't gaslight AI just to flex her power over minions

Don't mind if I ask, what role are you in generally?

Never say too old  AI is a very board topic in itself.

Perhaps have to find something suitable for you to learn.

I see. Maybe can start with those automation tools? Like MS Power Automate or UIPath. Both are quite useful for repetitive admin work.

AI has been there for decades. Hence it is considered slow ady. 

 

It feels fast because of the LLM boom, but yet, this LLM thing has been there for few years. So, still considered slow too. 

 

For me, it is always interested to see the prediction for future in regards to AI

Sometimes ChatGPT searches aren't very clever, so you need to input more for it to provide the answers you need. e.g. Pls recommend veggies, you can ask, pls recommend veggies that are high in vitamin A that are not carrots.

Nowadays, you just need to ask AI to teach you how to use AI.

 

Websites, trainings, etc, gets out of date very fast.

true, there are books just on prompts alone; but i wonder by the time they get published, are they already outdated etc.

 

similarly, parents send their kids to coding courses etc, is it a waste of money?
