I am new to this app.  

 

The installation on my mobile went well.  However, I have problem linking it to my desktop.  

 

Anyone using this app and facing the problem linking the mobile version to desktop?  How did you resolve it?

The login on the desktop should be via a QR code scan. I think there are 2 modes on the desktop. Via the desktop's app or www.wechat.com on the browser.

Download the desktop version of WeChat here, https://www.wechat.com/

 

After installation, open the desktop version and a QR Code will be displayed.

Use your mobile version of WeChat, on the top right, click on the 'PLUS' icon, click on SCAN.

The mobile version will be link to your desktop version.

The problem is not on the installation of the app on my mobile and desktop.  Installation went fine on both devices.

 

It is the process to link the app from mobile app to the desktop.  When the code is scanned, an error message 'unable to scan code to log in on this device' keeps appearing.

 

A search on reddit shows it is a common problem faced by some users.  Somehow, users are still not able to find solution to solve it.
