I have done multiple rounds of search and not able to find such shorts, thats why i posted here....

@DeMarko, they are called Harlequin shorts and sometimes rugby players wear them in which case they are tough cotton, not the nylon you refer to.  I have seen them in New Zealand and Australia, manufactured by Canterbury. Have not seen them anywhere else.  Maybe try some of the sports shops and in the rugby (very rare) section?

I believe they are sold usually in their churches. It's a sacred garment according to their beliefs, and some are embroidered with religious symbols reminding the wearer of their covenant with God. But there may be church-affiliated stores which are more accessible than the church itself.
