Aurenos Posted June 21 Posted June 21 I've recently switched my cardio from jogging to rucking (walking with a weighted backpack). Was wondering if anyone else does this and whether they might be interested in taking an occasional walk together? Guapo 1 Quote

reece7700 Posted June 21 Posted June 21 First time I hear of rucking. How heavy of a weight/backpack/vest do you recommend? Quote
Aurenos Posted June 21 Author Posted June 21 (edited) At first glance yes it does sound risky for the spinal load, but that would also apply to other strength training too if you don't engage the right muscles and have a good posture. Also from what I researched I should at max carry 25-33% of my bodyweight. For me that would be 20-26 kg. So far I have progressed from 5kg to 12.5kg. Edited June 21 by Aurenos Quote

I use a weighted vest instead of a physical backpack unless training for a hiking/climbing trip. Which day/time of the week and where do you train at? Quote

Location wise, I keep to the west side since i live around there, so examples like (Ulu Pandan Canal, Hort Park, Labrador Park), but I am open to try new places. Wanted to try rucking at Macritchie Resevoir. Quote
