Inside the extended 17-week basic military training for Singaporean recruits The Straits Times follows four recruits who did not sit or pass their Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT) as they undergo eight weeks of physical training. This phase focuses on improving their fitness before basic military training (BMT) begins. Javis Goh, Haravin Shaun Sivakumar, Aniq Afhami Hamir and Connor Francis Foster were among the pre-enlistees in 2025. This is their journey.
