Hi folks, help!!! I have problem giving myself a poop. I feel bloated, irritable sometimes, too much force used. I've tried, drinking lots of water, fiber, some suppliments but I don't want to be overly reliant on these until I cannot poop without these. Even the traditional treatment of having my hole poke by tops...eh eh eh... I clean before action hor just in case ppl think otherwise (pun intended la)

Was surfing the web and found out more about Colon Hydrotherpy/Irrigation does it help. If anyone of us have been there, done that, can offer me your takes on these.

I am open to contributions and suggestions be it on the above or any suppliments, tried and tested remedies, how to do it, where to get it, prices etc.

Thank you very much.

Benny,

It will be best if you consult a medical doctor immediately.

My mom (aged 79 then) had a similar problem and initially, I thought it was a minor problem until it was diagnosed properly.

She had some non-cancerous growth in her colon and it was necessary to remove them before they become death-threatening.

She had a endoscopy.. up her anus into the colon to have those irritating growths removed. Today at the age of 83, she is still doing fine and had never complain of constipation again. Of course, a regular diet of fibres and bananas helped.

Forget about all those fancy Colon Cleaning services, its not neccessary.

Your problem can be treated easily.

You obviously have some unbalance diet problem.

As you said, plenty of water, fibre and supplement helps but you don't want to be too reliant on them.

Change your diet immediately, you need a high fibre diet.

Breakfast

Eat high fibre whole meal bread / oatmeal / fruits / peanut butter (avoid white bread)

Try to take some yoghurt regularly

If you dont like yoghurt, try acidophilus capsules - it helps to balance the digestive system

Lunch

eat lightly with lots of veggie and fruits (local bite fruits are better - papaya, pineapple, banana)

if hungry, snack on dried fruits and nuts (raisin, dried apricot, almond, walnut, pumpkin seeds etc)

or whole meal crackers.

Dinner

same as lunch.

if possible, eat brown rice

avoid oily, deep fried stuff

drink plenty of liquid in between ( water, soya bean milk, fruit juice, green tea)

Try out for 1 month and see, nothing to loose.

A few of my friends went on this diet and are now very healthy people.

I agree. If is just a cause of not enough fiber in your diet than you know that it is that. If not then the doctor will be able to tell you what needs to be done next. I have heard of blockages where lumps (of waste matter) build up and becomes a hard lump. This then blocks the anal passage. But let us not try to be amateur medical practitioners here - good luck with your problem.

Regards

Oh yes, one more thing.

Try to have your bowel daily.

If you are going on a high fibre diet and have yr bowel too far apart, your stool will get too dry and hard and you'll have another set of problems.

Like others had suggested, if you suspect you have some unknown problem in your digestive system, please have a thorough medical check-up to clear your doubts.

Simple.

Eat PAPAYA. Papaya sold in Singapore usually the small ones. So at least eat one whole piece a day. It will help. And I don't think there is bad effect eating papaya everyday. It is a good fruit.

Anyway, if one day you are no longer have this problem - by any way, update here ya ;)

I would advise taking lots of fruits and vegetables. When it comes to our body, always go the way nature intended.

We were initially food gatherers, meaning we eat what's easily available, those that grows on trees and plants.

Then we learn to hunt when we taste fresh dead meat. Then we learn to grow food.

Don't want to be over reliant on lots of water and fiber? Hey, that's whats essential to our health.

You certainly do NOT want to be over reliant on colon cleansing and such. Just like you do not want to be reliant on

constipation medication. These medication lose their efficacy after a period of time because they are at best a temporary

solution and does not treat the fundamental causes.

Theory-wise, its very simple. For health, our body needs to eliminate waste readily and have lots of energy.

Eating lots of water-rich fruits and vegetables take care of the waste elimination part. Ideally, we should poo 2-3 times

a day. That's because we eat about as many times or more each day. What's converted to waste, we certainly shouldn't

hold too long in our body.

Eating too-rich and difficult to digest food which do not contribute much to nutrition, keeps our digestive system busy.

That zaps our energy level.

I take 6-7 types of fruits and vegetables for breakfast and another 2-3 types in the evening. And I certainly do not have a

constipation problem.
