In Malaysia and Singapore, I think most sales people refer to guys as "Uncle" and to gals as "Auntie" - its just the done thing. Like in Thailand they say "Meester" and "Madam" and how the Chinese say "Lao Ban". Dont read too much into it. Its just a form of address. Why would a veg aunty call you Uncle? Unless you looked like one. Looks & appearance maybe the key here. I may be a bonafide uncle in age, but i sure don't look (and act) like one. That's simply becoz i look years younger and i am like the poster child of the quintessential a&f wearer. I hardly have any shirt&pants in my extensive wardrobe - choosing instead to dress in my a&f and jeans or 3/4 and polo or tanktop assemble.

Except by those annoying tykes, i have yet to be called an uncle - not yet anyway. But like they say, looks & beauty are transient. Lately have been noticing that my skin is not as supple as before.
