Guest Guest
Two things to consider if u want to buy Fujitsu now.One.. u will have some hussle when upgrading to Windows Vista later becaue u wil be using your laptop now and other third parties programs and data had be saved and reinstalled again when upgrading. And if u dun know how to do it, asking someone might comprise your privacy when they peep into your hard disk seeing so many naked pics of gorgeous boys boys.Two..None of the Fujitsu models at Funan had web cam installed on the laptop. With wireless sg it is good to have web cam incorporated into the laptop for view conference and talking to your protential boys boys bfs.Otherwise Fujitsu is a good choice. I like the white colour model looks like Mac.

Guest Guest
Indeed there are many experts here on IT.Thanks them for all the useful comments and recommendations.I have a question here, hope some of the experts here can help.I like to take photos of myself but as you know the photographer cannot be the model, so here lies the problem. Most probably all of us here have a few dating profile on the internet. Pics tells a thousand words and increase the chances of getting hit when you have some photos especially the sexy ones.Is there any good camera around that can take your own pics without other to help?I meant those with remote control and the screen can be turned over to face you. Then you can take your time to pose and view the pic first before pressing on the remote button. So far I know that most digital video cam came with remote control but their pics taken are not good.Any help here from some kind souls? Thanks. Guest Law
Just could not understand the whole thing about the Maxonline subscriber's mindset. They have a laptop for free after recontracting or new subscription. Why is there a need to kick a big fuss when HP or Starhub has apologised and clarified that it function the same???Quoted from New Paper:Said National Serviceman Kenneth Teow, 19, who renewed his subscription on 28 Nov: 'StarHub should... find a suitable way to compensate us.' He added that he has e-mailed both StarHub and Hewlett-Packard (HP), which makes the computer.Just wonder if Kenneth is willing to cancel the contract and willing to return the laptop to Starhub/HP? If he do that, he is back to square one. My comment is "Sheer Greedy".Perhaps my though may bring wrath to some. However, this is just my thought.... oralb
firstly it is never free... if you choose not to take the PC or laptop, they can offer some discount off the price, in short you are financing the PC or laptop thro 24 months, aka installmentwhatever they have raised is correct as well, as without the intel wireless, SH cannot brand the laptop as Intel Centrino Duo. the brand has certain value in it.As you leave down your nick as LAW, i presume you are familiar with the consumer law, what happen is a mis-representation and can be used to void the contract. Guest Guest
So far for Singtel and SH, there is a hidden cost which many are not aware of for the broadband. That is on top of the subscription you pay monthly, for singtel you still had to subscript to their telephone line ($25 for 3 mths) and SH you had to subscript to their basic package before you can get the internet connection. All in you are not just paying for the broadband alone. As most of us are carrying mobile phone, I hardly use my home line anymore. Therefore I am waiting for something real wireless broadband and I can terminate my singtel and home line. In all this is a very substantial saving on the consumer's part. Guest Guest
Hi Oralb,I am not into law, just to clarify. In any case, i have to agree with you that it is a misintepretation and nothing is free in this world. However, is there a need to seek for compensation even if the goodies are free, and yet keep the laptop? Of course, i can only assume that one could void the contract and return the laptop back to the SP if both parties agreed to it.

Of course, i can only assume that one could void the contract and return the laptop back to the SP if both parties agreed to it. I tend to agree that one should not complain for anything that is being offered as 'freebies'. When one is attracted for the freebie offered by a supplier and consumer is willing to sign up subscription and both parties are clear on the contract, a transaction has taken place. I believe a Company should have worked out their profitability when they launch such a sales event. To maximise sales through promotion and freebies, all terms and conditions must be equally ethical. However, in this particular incident, the advertisement to lure for customers was mislead and somewhat misrepresented. Customers who have received the notebook found that the notebook does not stick to what was advertised/claimed. Both SH and HP have actually acknowledged about the ad's misprint. I understand that SH compensated some customers with a $150 voucher opting for this notebook for the fault. There were customers refusing acceptance for the notebook but were unable to void the contract.Actually, it is rather interesting to see the development. There are few techies who opted for this Promo taking it further to CASE.Cheers, and Season's Greetings!
Guest retri
i hate starhub. customer service sucks. once, they mis-billed my cable subscription. took me more than 4 visits to the customer service centre to get it debited, and more than 8 hours of waiting. as for internet connection, i'd say, the best bet is still singnet, my personal opinion. went to my neighbour's place, and in comparison to my download and upload speed, mine's way faster.
