I've been to the House of Male sauna on a Sunday afternoon after lunch and it was pretty quiet with just a handful of Thais and farangs. The place was clean and spacious with private rooms. There's even a swimming pool. I did find someone there but it's kinda hit-or-miss. I don't remember much about the bars but those near D2 Hotel were pretty much the kind you would find in Silom Soi 4, Bangkok. The bars near Huay Kaew Road were more upmarket.
