dienasaw Posted April 11, 2007 Report Share Posted April 11, 2007 old airport road food centre has got some nice food options...there's a spaghetti stall and the owners are quite friendly... the male boss is a nice chub and his young son is growing up to be like daddy! heeloved the fried chicken wings from the western food stall in the middle... crispy on the outside and juicy on the insideYana coffeeshop serves giant mugs of great tasting sour plum drink, ice lemon tea and nice teh-Ccrab lovers would want to try the mattar road seafood shop's white pepper crabthe lor-mee stall is quite good and they are usually sold out by noon... long queue thoughthere's the kueh kueh stall manned in the evenings by a cute bengand you have to be ever patient for your queue number to be called for the famous toa payoh rojak stallthe hokkien mee stall at a corner is quite good too but you must remember to give them your table number or they won't bother to take your orderone or two stall away from the hokkien mee stall, if you are prepared to indulge, go for the sinfully rich de-ka (stewed pork) bee hoon from the zi-char stall...* BURRRRRPPP! * Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

dienasaw Posted April 11, 2007 Report Share Posted April 11, 2007 old airport hawker centre is operating out of its temporary location just behind its previous location... hope the renovations are completed by the end of the this year and they get new team of cleaners too... the current cleaners contracted to clean up the tables do not do a good job. they just empty the plates and wipe the tables, then leave the plates on the tables... strange practice. can see a couple of baby xiao qiangs (cockroaches) running across the tables at times and the occasional rat scoot from along the drain... erection day Posted April 13, 2007 Report Share Posted April 13, 2007 The thrid floor of AMK Mall (sorry I always talk about AMK Mall being a resident there :oops: ) has just open their food court run by NTUC (wonder if there's anything NTUC does not do now?). Quite good wide selection of stalls. Tried their thai food this aft and Japanese set meal just now for dinner. Pretty good. And cheap. If you want better Jap fare, then head down to Ichiban on lower floor or to Sticky Rice for good Thai stuff. Fish and Co also just open there. AMK is 'happening' again .
