During the Chinese New Year. That was my first visit to Lido.... there are three 'mini' theatres inside. But the cineman hall (I went to Lido 2) looks kinda new. So, I don't know if they have renovated the place 'after the fire'. Scala looks the same to me. All I know is that there's one conspicous big plot of land along that road that is 'gone'....razed to the ground I think. It used to house one of my favorite breadfast place- Au Bon Pain.

Bangkok Tips 1 If you have some time to spare in the afternoon and tired of shopping and foot massages (how many foot massages can one do in a week without getting a little phobia?), spend some time at either the Lido or Scala cinema (art-house theatres really) where you can watch a movie for only 100 baht. Cinema is quite posh (please don't go there for hanky-panky) and on my last visit I watched Buitiful (at Lido) and The King's Speech (at Scala)....very good value for money. Both cinemas are located just beside Siam MRT (opp Siam Paragon) and within walking distance of each other.

Came back from my annual Bk trip two weeks ago. I must say that sadly Albury (which I used to rave in the past) has gone downhill. The evening I went there, there were hardly any customers. And the masseurs are just pretty ordinary. Not a match at all to the other massage harem- Hero (which still packed in the crowds especially during the busy, busy CNY period). And I am glad I went back to V-club. The masseurs there are very enticing too. Hero and V-club can fight it out.

Just came back from another hardcore trip from BKK. Will write more when I have more time away from work. I'm happy to note that you did have a fantastic time at Hero, nycboy123! But I do feel that the tips to the boys are a little on the high side. It's always right to tip for a service well rendered, be it at a restaurant, bar or a sauna. For me, for an excellent massage service, the most that I've tipped the boy is 1500 bahts and they were most happy with that. For those slightly above average session, at least 1200 bahts. And for those real lousy one in term of service and attitude (yes, it does happen and you just want to get it over and done with), I'll just give the minimum 1000 bahts. But that's just my practice anyway. For the kinda tips which you gave them, you could easily have worked out a deal for the boy to spend a night with you or something.

I'd like to recommend you to try out this massage place which I have not tried before. The reason I didnt want to go in cause the place inside looks kinda claustrophobic and there's even a woman masseur co-worker. I think the place is a proper tui na joint situated near a very busy market area. A rather small cramp shop but I think I saw a private massage room inside. I want to recommend because the mature masseur is so gorgeous. He's tall, muscular and he looks to be in his early 50s with a full head of silver hair but what a gorgeous, gorgeous bod for someone his age. Pretty straight acting. I have been eying him ages. lol. The massage place is called yuan zhi yuan, blk 431 (need to check the address again), the roll of shops just opposite the wet market. NEAR Ang Mo Kio swimming pool. Do try him out and give us a report. I may be tempted to go one day.

Not an expert in any way about take-home guys but this sort of arrangement is best done just between the two of you in private. Ask him nicely how much for an over-night stay. In that way, you save on the tips which you probably have to pay the owner of the sauna. If your masseur 'click' with you, such cordial arrangement should be easy. I am sure this sort of request has been done before. Anyway, do sure your 'report' on Hero and Albury please. We eagerly await your assessment.
