Flat Chest

I have hit the gym for around one year now but I have seen minimal growth for my chest, though biceps and triceps got quite good result. I m going to the gym thrice a week.I think I m doing the exercises for chest correctly. Is there a genetic cause for it ie some people are just born with flat chest n no matter how hard they train the result will be the same?

I have known some people who do not go to the gym at all but endowed with quite prominent chest. I am also thinking of taking protein powder.Would that help significantly? Any other advices?

I am doing 6 sets of 120 incline, 120 flat & 120 decline, I normally do 5 times a week, you can try. I have frds who I seen results with just push ups, don't have to waste money joining gym membership :)

it's genetic lah. My brother who is very sporty also cannot develop chest area.

I gym for 10 years and still got to 'push it up' to make it look decent.

You also notice the extreme case of 'man boobs' esp in some other race.

Might wanna check whether you used your arms too much or maybe you hit plateau already.

I have problems developing my chest as well, so I implement quite a few more exercise to make full use of my pectoral muscle.

Doesn't mean u swim more laps means it's effective. Such long distance swimming more for cardio than muscle building.

Correct technique is important too. If u mean just those uncle casually swimming, 50 laps also no effect, but very good stamina.

After u straighten your arms, the pulling forward part must be strong, fast and effective, with fingers closed. In this way, u really pull ahead. Try doing that now and I can sure u can feel yr upper chest movement.

If need more power, try doing breast stroke without the legs, just with a float.

Try taking the width of the pool, after each lap, do 20 push up and continue.

Broad and diamond push-ups daily (gym day or non-gym day). Start with comfortable number (don't be too ambitious else you will get tired and lose the mood). Slowly increase the number over few days till you reach your max and maintain.

There are Youtube videos you could follow but keep them simple. It is not about how complex the workout is. Choose the ones that work for you.
