U can tell from his pics he had some cosmetic enhancement to his cheeks using collagen fillers or something similar. He looks quite youthful for his age but the problem lies in him looking neither like a man nor a woman by how he fashions himself. The end result is instinctly repulsive cos humans r hard wired to assess a persons beauty based on their genders. When u look like u r in between, the mind rejects that as unattractive no matter what.

If he gets a gentlemans haircut, put on real mens clothes appropriate for his age n pose in photos with some dignity, he'd look more respectable instead of a low grade slut he is now.

I believe Taboo is one of the oldest, if not the oldest gay club around. So, at a time when clubs open their doors only to close down about a year later, Addie must be doing something right.

 

And I think, one of them is, he knows how to treat his guests well. He knows the regulars by name and is always a friendly face in the club. I used to go there frequently until around 2008 when I decided to retire from the whole party scene.

 

As somebody who has lived in the pre-Internet years, Taboo opened at a time when the Internet was still in infancy and well, it was pretty difficult for gay guys to meet each other. Of course, there were cruising areas like the old Ann Siang Hill, Fort Rd, etc.

 

But Addie and the other pioneers in the gay clubbing scene set up places where gay guys can finally get to meet each each other and dance without worrying that undercover policemen could catch them for alleged lewd acts. There were NO saunas in Sg back then methinks.Several clubs, like Niche, Vincent's, Happy, Mox, Why Not, (and for older guys, Babylon and Inner Circle) have come and gone.

 

But Tabs (as the regulars fondly call it) is still here. And I know younger gay guys may not think too much about it. But for us more mature dudes, (who are pushing 40 or have even surpassed the big four-oh) Taboo brings back many fond memories and Addie is always a friendly face in the crowd.
