The cabin he had been riding in had halted during tests, while another unoccupied cabin became dislodged and fell. The cabin bearing the engineer was subsequently moved safely to Imbiah Station, where he was freed. No one was hurt in the incident. According to a statement from Sentosa Development Corporation, the line where the incident had occurred is currently under construction, and is independent from the existing cable way system from Mount Faber to Sentosa, which is unaffected and remains in operation. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) added that a DART had been on standby at the scene to render assistance if required.
