Base on what criteria?

A better outline of a person social background and academic qualifications will enable you to have a more accurate assessment and reading from this poll.

20k a month

As a duck? Must be the real high class one loh....

1. The Following is based on census of Year 2000 (Year 2010 census cap their numbers at 5K)

Except the top end, Singapore salary have generally stagnated. So I believe the Median still applies.

2. The median figure for Age 35 is about $4K/Month

the difference between being own boss and salaried worker is always very obvious.

Money laundering so easy ah? So do u launder?

So what are u working that is well respected? So how much u earn then?

A police officer that protects the citizen with a salary of $2025 a month?

By the way, I don't look down on ppl who earn little. But I do look down on ppl who loves to speculate.

Have u seen housing agents earning $300,000 a year and more? So they money laundering?

hmm.. i am a at junior sous chef, works like a chef de partie & my pay grade is at S$2600.00 before deducting CPF & I am a 36yrs old married chinese dude. But currently, the market price for a junior sous chef to sous chef level is about S$2600-S$2800. Exec Chefs pay grade is @ S$3000-S$4000 max at this current period in sg. So therefore in f&b a lot of old birds, they don't dare to spread their wings & fly. Unless you're a somebody, being your own boss with a celebrity status.. ahh.. that will fetch you most probably say S$5000 a month / that person is a Group Exec Chef... ahh that the person will rake about S$4500 - S$5000

Aiyoh, some poor horse jealous of some rich pig and talk nonsense here.

Mr 20K, so you pretend to be nice and kind lah?

Have you not heard of 'reversal of fortune'?

I know of super rich people who are very low profile.

Rich people afraid of fame and pigs fear if they are too fat.

Seriously, i think below sgd5k at the age of 35 is freaking low.

Singapore is one of the most expensive city.

I am 30, and i am getting way more than just 5k salary. And im not a super scholar or manager.

I believe u should learn how to negotiate your salary package and of course be profesioanal when u do it.

If u r 35.. u shud at least get sgd 8 to 10k.

This question is posted by someone who hasn't done statistic during their school or uni days.....

It may be more meaningful to split this survey into different categories like

A) for those with a minimum of a bachelor or college degree

B) for those with up to O or A level education

C) for those with less than O level education

For all above, exclude those who are self-employed.

We can of course define more parameters but I feel that above is good enough for sampling purpose on how much Singaporeans ( defined as those working in Singapore, as locals or expats) at 35 make.

So let me put down my guess/estimate based on above:-

A) $12,000

B) 4,000

C) 2,000

the question is so simple - nothing to do with qualification, industry of work, home based, office or what.

Now u are 35, how much will u want to achieve in yr life?

Bcas when a person reach 40 and more, he will be starting to plan for retirement, slow down in footsteps.

Don't complicate it.

So if u are 35 now, how much u want to earn then? Not how much u earning now.

Dun bother about others, as long as you are happy.

How about job satisfaction?

I am enjoying every second of my semi-retirement job.

I work about 28 hrs per week.

I get up at 11 am and take my own sweet time to go to work(actually it does not feel like work at all)

I am smiling and laughing very often at my workplace.

Of course, I am taking a fraction of what I used to make when I was 35.

But my life is simple - no condo, no car, no country club, no credit and no cash.

I only got my 3 rm flat (fully redeemed) and my joy back.

You all are talking so much cock here.

What's the point of asking people what is their ideal expectation of the wage they should be earning at a certain age?

You can have all sorts of answer coming your way.

Just look at the official statistic of the median wage of workers in this age group will give everyone a much more realistic answer instead.

Got myself promoted to product manager at the age 27. Earning far above most of my friends. Have luxury condo and car at 26. But when I'm 35. Probably I'm willing to reduce my earning and look for happier life. Money isn't best measurement. As age catching up... Life and happiness is the one i will aim

For once I agree with RA. What a silly question to ask what is one's ideal age at 35! What you want vs what you can achieve is two different things altogether. You are only going to make people more suicidal if they think too much about it!

35 should be the beginning of the peak of your career and you are thinking of taking it easy!

The average person has 25 years of good luck and 25 years of bad luck.

Only if you think retirement is bad luck....

Don't be such a sour grape. Be happy for people achieving their goals. Should give you more motivation to do better, knowing that others can do it,so can you!

I know your kind of job.

It's like 云贸 or a pyramid scheme sales marketing.

Rank and hierarchy play heavily in this kind of work and the rewards come fast and furious.

All these years how many of your compatriots have fallen for each success that arose in the company?

Also all pyramids will burst if management is not shrewd/wise enough to prevent it from collapsing.Eventually it will still burst and collapse despite one best efforts.

Those who have climb to the top and are smart enough not to get too greedy or lost in the game of power and glory will want to step down and enjoy their laurels lest they lost everything and are made to take the fall.

This is the real reason behind the fancy term of early retirement.

The heart and soul must be jaded by this point already as this kind of success is exchange by fast accelerate life growth.

Those whose have left early and wish to use what they have learn in this trade by settin up a new branch on their own seldom can recreate miracles again.

But no need to worry as the money is really enough for one to live comfortably already, the tricky thing to overcome is really one own lust and greed for fame and power.

People with a hidden or dormant pastime in life can transit better than those who know only of work and can't see through the nature of trappings.

That's when coporate climbers can achieve another phase of life growth and see the things people like me can see.

When I was 35, that year my pay was almost $250K a month. It was one of the better years. My pay is not linear nor progressive. I've had lower pay after that too.

Bet you wanna know what I do?

I'm called a "house trader".

Buy and sell house? LOL!

You know after everything is saturated and monopolise here after that period what else can people turn to for quick easy cash turnover?

Nothing much already and besides what one earn here eventually all go back into the system here unless people uproot.

This is also the period when people like me start to awake.

Sigh everything is coming to an end nowadays with not much margin left to profit and speculate.

Nothing wrong.

He peaked earlier, thats why he can take things easy earlier. :)

In fact, I agree with what he said. Money is not the measure of everything.
