azimuth Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 I guess as long as we talk about rock climbing, it will continue to be here. Don't turn this into a rock climbing meetup discussion thread. Lol. Quote
liam Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Comes down to a few basic principles: always step with the tip of the toes- similar to dancing ballet on the tiles. Make sure the climbing shoe size u pick is at least one size smaller than your normal shoes and that your toes MUST be curled up if fitted properly. at all times try to maintain a tripod position and make sure u use opposition side of your legs and arms while supporting yourself ( supporting yourself with both left hand and legs only will cause yourself to swing out). If you are reaching for a tile with your right hand, try to find a higher foothold for your right foot while twisting and facing your right knee cap and body to the left, this decrease the space between the wall and your right shoulder and increasing your reach generally. jierong 1 Quote

milogarang Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Can always go to sports hub and experience the climb as first timers with no experience. Easier to book a slot too Quote

milogarang Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 well, those climbing gyms i know with auto-belay are climb central at stadium, funan and novena as well as ground-up in Serangoon and T-Hall at Lavender. for climb central, stadium is better as there are more auto-belay lanes. the staff will conduct a safety briefing first then you are on your own. most first timers are shy to ask and they would try to figure their way up on their own. some would fall in love with climbing after the first visit, some may not come back. not to worry about being a burden. there are staff and some seasoned climbers who would not mind giving you basic handles on how to climb well, and perhaps in the process, you can forge new friendships. try for first time and see how it goes. weekends are usually packed and on weekdays, the 6.30pm slots are usually full house. just go to their website and check out on how to book your first session. allez! 👍 Quote
