FASTER Since the BW Forum Upgrade in December 2015, we were told the forum is now slower. This was because the forum software now uses SSL and more AJAX updates. This make the forum more secure and less clicks for users to check members' profiles and posts. But all these resulted in much heavier load on our servers hence the slowdown. CPU increase and upgrade is too expensive for us at the moment. Our best value for money option is this extra RAM which will greatly speed up our Forum Database and hence result it faster forum access. The RAM will also allow us to support more people online. 3. BETTER The extra Disk is needed to allow BW to support Users Uploaded Pics. Yes since the December 2015 Forum Upgrade, members can now upload pictures directly into your Forum Post instead of using an external picture hosting site. We know members love it as seen from the rapidly increasing disk usage on our servers and BW posts with pictures. We believe this extra disk space will benefit readers and is money well spent. 4. And still FREE Thanks to our Advertisers, we manage to sell our advertisement slots. A big shoutout to Male-HQ and please support and check up their products. Thanks also to our Business Development Mod (OralB), we have generated enough cash to get this Hardware Upgrade for our servers. Enjoy ! In the earlier years (eg 2005 that period) Singapore gay man are worried about police raiding saunas. and authorities impounding the BW database showing IP address of members. Hosting in the US assures our members that the servers were "out of reach/jurisdiction" by authorities. This fear has "subsided" over the years as Government has clarified that they will leave gay man alone. Second reason is that hosting in the USA is much more economical.
