30yochinese Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 How happy are u in Singapore ? you got to be kidding me... even with all the CCTVs planted in my vicinity, i will still express my total disappointment that most of the world highly regards Singapore as the epitome of "Happiness Levels" based on the common sense that this is probably the only city-state-country who is so successful in its management of the country's social-political-economic landscape. And when you have all these factors stacked up, to the favour of the government's hard work, naturally it is superficially possible that Singapore is indeed the 2nd Happiest country in the world, but in reality...you & I know the real ranking, Singapore is the LEAST happiest country in the world. angel_dust and Spaceboy72 2
Guest Guest Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 This survey is done by FT? Paid for by the govt? With the constant disarry of the MRT, in my himble view terrible transport, horrible education system, bad public housing, terrible road conditions, expensive healthcare...are we happy?
Guest Guest Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 I think we are staying in one of the worst places on earth...we singaporeans are facing hardships and stress every single day.....

Guest Guest Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Why not? The study says SingaPORE is second happiest country in the world, not SingaPOREANS are the second happiest citizens in the world. We have almost 50% of the country filled with foreign trash to take advantage of us, of course Singapore is second happiest country in the world.

What are you? A hardcore communist?
Guest Singaypore Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Singapore is second gayest country in the world: Bloomberg Misery Index
Guest Guest Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Many Singaporeans do not have the spiritual and cultural makings to appreciate happiness. Many Singaporeans just draw comparison of happiness with having tangibles. How happy can that be? If one based on the amount of $$ he has, then he is just as happy as when he has the money.
Guest Floating Balloon Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 We lived in a world ruled by deceit. I am done with indexes, surveys and statistics. The world could be a better place if more people are consoling the dying and sick instead of comparing which country is best, happiest and richest? The latter is too transient for the living.

They are here to create good jobs for us.
ivanl Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 (edited) 2nd Least Miserable =!= 2nd happiest. You can be happy. You can be miserable. But just because you are not happy does not mean you are miserable. And just because you are not miserable does not mean you are not happy. Also, the metric seems flawed. Change in inflation is not going to be useful unless you include change in decile wage, among other factors. Unemployment... who says I'm miserable if I'm unemployed? I might as well just say I measured happiness with public toilets from a combination of inflation and unemployment. Higher inflation means more people unhappy with public toilets because need to pay more to enter. Higher unemployment means less people happy with public toilets cause they don't haev $$ to pay to enter the toilet. Then Singapore must be damn happy with public toilets liao right? Guest Nat tie yoh nar dae Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Of cos singaporeans are the happiest crowd in the world. When someone is displeased, we will gungho-ly say "not happy is it!?" He or she will immediately beam from ear to ear to portray "happy". We are like robots. Programmed to be easily controlled.

Can you define "good jobs"? Those that pay us miserably like technicians, receptionists, floor sweepers?
Guest guest Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 singapore is number 26 in the world for being the happiest country .U agree?

Guest Tomato Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Come on, look at the volumes of smiles on everyone's face on the streets, in the MRT and in your office. Even the husbands do not smile at their wives. Happiness comes from the heart, u will sense it if the smiles are from within. In Singapore, we have been overly successful with the tangibles, all our values are eroded and hence the happiness within has hollowed out.
Tommy vietnam Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Singapore is not so happy now. It fell from 24th in 2015 to 26th in 2016 in World Happiness Report.
