Pinkdot is a gay event, do you not understand? I don't picnic, taking photos for ig etc. Hello, I'm not out to family and friends. Yes, I turn up because I support for a good cause and that's the only little thing I can do. If everyone thinks like you, there will be nobody attending pinkdot and straights will continue to see us as faggots who have no rights to love and be hated for not procreating. Volunteer for counseling is another set of skills. Pls don't lump everything together just because you feel they're the same. Depression occurs not only in gays but straights as well. You are saying like all gays want to suicide. Totally not making any sense Freedom to love is important to me. You're so narrow minded. Do you really think you have the right to love your bf and have gay sex? Aren't you aware the laws are against you at this very second. I don't know gays what bigger fish to fry and bigger problems to solve because the basic freedom to love is NOT present here, don't talk about bigger things. Go and kiss your bf at orchard road and see how many sneering eyes are on both ofyou thinking in dislusional there is freedom for gay love. Lmao. When straights kiss in public, nobody blinks an eye. Or are you dumb enough to see or self denial max? Something is very wrong with you. You can't even take the first baby step right but want to jump into gay volunteering work, bigger fish and whatever senseless rights. Gays have no rights here, get it? You have to be legally married in order to apply for a 3room or more hdb bto. If your gay, you will never get a chance to do that with your gay partner. Wake up! You get disillusioned with all these basic bitches with nary an idea about realness and inclusiveness turning up in identical pink t-shirts, i understand. Where are the lofy ones that can actually pull together a PROPER pink outfit with flair and pull it off with panache? They, the early adopters, and vanguards of pop up flash mob events like pink dot in it’s infancy stages are long over and done with pink dot. They have made their point, pink dot has made it’s point, but only the former had left hong lim park. What we have now accumulating at hong lim annually are mostly the #pinkdotbasicbitches, and then some. and i'm not trying to call anyone out here, but the funny thing is that the majority spouting shit about self acceptance once a year are guests. these are the same people who don't even have the balls to register for a real account on Blowing Wind, a GAY FORUM. hmm i wonder why that is? because you scared your colleague, wife, mother, father, son, daughter find out you spend your miserable life lurking on a gay forum. wasting your days, talking about nonsense gay fantasies, exchange pics of dicks and holes, and trying to hook up like a dog. so let me cut through the bullshit real quick. all you don't even dare to be an actual productive member of THIS community first, don't talk big about self-acceptance, love and support for the gay community out there which you so proudly claim as your own. if dressing up in pink once a year to attend an open air circle-jerk can solve the real issues of this community, someone please shove me up a carebear's butt so it can poop me out pink and i'll serve as Pink Dot's mascot from now till eternity. until then, get off my dick. As the saying goes, who needs enemy when your friends acted like one here? Anyway, if religious people are willing to spend away their sleep on sermon every sunday without fail, it will go against my conscience if I can't even spend 2 hour a year to support our pink comrade. Guest Phoenix
No. The Pink Dot to me is a waste of time. Its what I like to call a "show up but no action" event. Its mostly done to potray Singapore as an "open" society, when in actual fact its the opposite. No matter how much LGBT and allies are going to "protest". The PAP government will never recognize the LGBT community as equals. This is a fact. They are more concerned about not upsetting the fragile minds of the religous and conservative folks in this country. Phoenix, you will be glad to know that there are MANY out there who are reworking the laws and loopholes to get protection for gays, especially those who want to start their lives together, and have families. https://www.facebook.com/singaporelgbtlaw/ we may never have gay marriage in this lifetime, maybe even never, but we are creating new policies that still function to protect and cover the lives of gay individuals so we have futures, instead of being treated like potential fugitives. we are doing this because there is no use waiting for the right conditions, like waiting for the sky to turn pink. we are doing this because we have the power and intelligence to make change, before it is too late. we are doing this so that the next generation will have it better than now. even if they don't know it. I have never attended, but at the very first Pink Dot, the selling pitch was that "we must show the nation that we are proud to be gay! and that we are brave for loving who we love!"" that was my first red flag. my first instinct was to honestly ask myself, "what have i done as a gay singaporean, that i can be proud of, and to share with others?" and "why do i need a one day event like this to validate how brave i am for living in my own skin all the other days of the year?" "freedom to love? I already have it. i love my friends, family, significant other. do people really need to get permission from strangers before they can be free to love i am sure not everyone attending will be "fresh ingredients" so what becomes of them? i see some comments in this thread and it puzzles me that some attend purely to be lauded and seen, and some attend to see those they can see but cannot touch. if this is the crux of Pink Dot, I rest my case. in fact, can anyone even share if the event has a lasting impact beyond the day itself? how does it benefit your life, and times where you are struggling. that is the true test of efficacy, no? Truly agree...i haf e same thinking like yours. Seriously, if i haf nothing on tat day, i rather stay at home, on e aircon n lay on my bed watching tv. riverrobles
Well I just hope that the previous posts are indication of a very dynamic gay minority in Singapore. As a foreigner who has been in Singapore for 10 years, I’ve seen the pink dot grow, covering it in utopia-asia , it made me feel there is hope in the future of LGBTQI here in ASEAN. Singapore being the 1st world country around its neighbours is showing change albeit slow. I do not want to dismiss the efforts of the Organizers and it’s supporters by being superficial, by just being a one day event, we just have to Ensure that PinK Dot and the ideals it promotes does not stop within the speakers corner dot, we have to improve ourselves as human beings of the earth, challenge the status quo and think of the injustice being done on all the minorities at work, in school, in government policies , in general. To the young, please carry the baton of improving the lives of LGBTQIs and challenging perceived laws that protect the family unit. We have the same rights as straight people. Do not get lost on the temporary happiness we get from partying, false friends, sex and drugs. I do have high hopes to this generation of ambitious and Creative individuals. For the young at heart, we as mature brothers to the young ones, let us not dismiss the effort done to liberate minds and hearts by slowly showing our families and friends that we are not just sissies or limp wristed individuals by supporting your families, by supporting LGBTQI and straight friends alike, by working, by studying, by doubly working and achieving what others can do. By doing so we can influence and make policies not by violence but through law and love because of the family unit. The same unit the law is supposedly protecting. Let Singapore lead a more polished pride event: Pink Dot. We should be happy it is celebrated and it is being permitted. Nanay steps you may think but this collective movements in ASEAN surely propels a more open region, by growing a seed on each of the LGBTQI person a challenge , that he has the same right to live, marry, have a family, buy a house etc as the straight people around are. P.S. I can attend Pink dot because I am a permanent resident here in Sg. I'm really turned-on if both heads (the head above and the head below) are both functioning well https://asianguysgonewild.newtumbl.com https://linktr.ee/riverrobles

Or maybe they do not provide food because got rent out stalls which sells expensive angmo type food. Also parking is a problem. Got free parking coupon? They should work with the park royap hotel to provide free parking. Also can work witj Chinatown Point Mall to offer diacounts for food and drink. What about toilets? Standing for long time is bad for bowel movements. If scare so many things, then stay home and don't go.
