Well Gents, This has been an interesting poll. It has certainly raised my eyebrows in certain aspects. In a nutshell these are the observations I have made from your responses: Respondents feel that the most important attribute (by far) in a partner is the intellectual compatibility Next comes a spiritual connection (whatever that means to the respondents). Combined with the results for intellectual compatibility, clearly there is a yearning for a close connection beyond sex. There is close correlation between looks and sexual satisfaction. Can I say that gay men's eyes are wired directly to their dicks? Those in 20s or younger account for over 75% of the respondents - now this came as a big surprise to me. This has been fun. Maybe I should create a new poll...

I like a real man in his boxers, amply-covered butts. I am very disappointed by those hunky guys who donned cheap 5-in-a-box bikini underwear. Especially if it looks so worn out - colours are fading ones, yucks.

Oops I beg to differ. Seriously after paying off my HDB flat in 1996, there is very little BIG and compulsory items left to pay on a regular basis. Now it is just conservancy charges, utility bills and mobile phones charges - life can only get better. I have rented a room and my "foreign-PR" tenants have been with me for almost 4 years now. Rent collection is used to offset my maid salary (she looks after my aged mother). I am still working because I do not want dementia and inactive lifestyle to kick in early. Of course, there are people who are still renting rooms. But do you know why? They may have family issues, work retrenchment at one point or have skills that are now obsolete. They may have Chinese as their 1st language and their English proficiency is minimal. Remember not everyone has the opportunity and environment to excel in the 60s, 70s. Those days an O level certificate was sufficient. An aunt with just A level wrote for the newspaper in the 70s. She even had her own column. something unthinkable in these days. So dont jump into conclusions that they are irresponsible. Be more sympathetic.

I have talked to several friends (some of whom are AIDS counsellors in Canada and USA) and was told that many poz people usualy think that once they are HIV+, they can lose all inhibitions and do all the bareback sex they want. WRONG! Those who think so will merely open themselves to other strains of HIV as well as other infections like Hepatitis B and C, syphilis, etc. Also, some feel that as being HIV+ is no longer a terminal condition but a chronic one, they can have unsafe sex all they want with anyone they fancy - cos after all, the condition IS treatable with HAART and stuff.. This is unlike how it was in the 80s when being infected with the virus would almost immediately mean a death sentence. But I personally think prevention is better than treatment (cos there is no cure for HIV) And the worst thing is, was told my friends in both Singapore and Malaysia that there are still lots of guys in the region that WANT bareback sex despite all the education about the dangers of STIs.
