Agree that it would be most ideal if transgender people use gender-neutral bathrooms, but if there was sufficient gender-neutral bathrooms then I don't think we would be discussing this topic in the first place. Occasionally there is a bathroom for disabled people, but in the most situations there are only 2 options available, the men's or women's bathroom. When there is a lack of gender-neutral bathrooms, which bathroom should transgender use given the above safety concerns?
Arguing the "naked" perspective requires a distinction to be introduced. Regular bathrooms (where you pee/poop and are not really naked) and showers (where you actually get naked) are perhaps 2 extreme situations. I'm not sure how to resolve the shower issue, so I am only referring to the regular bathroom use issue. Again, if no gender-neutral bathrooms in sight, I'm not sure there is a solution given the above safety concern.
I don't expect everyone to agree, and I don't expect everyone to understand either. Similarly, I don't expect all straight people to understand gay people. I just wanted to share another perspective, as I have transgender friends so can appreciate their predicament.
