Someone is using our name to conduct illegal activities during COVID-19. His activities are now trending in the public spotlight. There are rumors of police report being made. Please stay safe, leave this group if you are in it, and do not participate in any physical gathering during this pandemic.

1. A few weeks ago, we were made aware that an unknown person has taken up the Blowing Wind moniker and started organizing illegal hookups in public in the middle of a pandemic. To his effort, he created a phishing site of our forum and started an unofficial telegram group where illegal activities were being discussed and taking place.

 

2. We have attempted to contact the owner who has deceitfully taken our name multiple times but was kicked out of this group.

 

3. I would like to reiterate that Blowing Wind Forum is NOT AFFILIATED with this group that is organizing illegal activities during this Circuit Breaker measures. 

 

4. While Circuit Breaker measures are easing locally, physical gathering of any kind is STILL BANNED. Please observe Circuit Breaker, we've had to issue warning / suspension to a few members who were advertising to meet up in our Personals forum. To everyone who is reading this, please TAKE THINGS SERIOUSLY, take care of your health and that of your family, and help to spread the word that we DO NOT SUPPORT IRRESPONSIBLE PEOPLE.

 

5. We have since started our own Telegram Group to differentiate from this highly dubious bunch. If you are in the reported telegram group, we urge you to leave it to disassociate yourself from any potential implication IMMEDIATELY. Don't get yourself into trouble.

Everywhere in the twitter are hookups too, if BW wish to investigate should really start from there. Over here no1 will admit and only flamers and trollers will start bickering non-stop here.........
All non-substantial qns/postings like "where can we find a place to study" to be  locked and placed at the right dept - it sounded like a legitmate hookup esp after MORE than 30days into a Cb, no one should be asking "where" and all depts discussing about parks and gardens should be temporarily locked out of sight till CB is lifted (& whatever postings like telegram-for-bear-and-married etc should be locked temporarily)

Then it is easier to stop any guys from "stealing" the name.

 

Trade mark registrations don't cost much nowadays.

what a joke. as if anyone would respect the trademark for a telegram group. besides enforcing the trade mark is going to cost a whole lot of money for legal proceedings

We are talking about Singapore!

 

And we are talking about a "logo" used as the picture.

What happens inside the telegram chat group is something different.

 

Maybe you have not noted most Telcom, Messenger providers have a complaint section. They act very fast on such infringement matters.

You just need to write in to the provider and they will act on it.

For bigger providers, which telegram is one of them, they will act within 24 hours.

 

You might find it a joke, but it is not.

 

Sure, the legal department of coca cola won't send a complain for everyone who is using a coke bottle as his profile picture, but for sensitive matters and impersonating matters by using a registered trade mark, I m quite sure the providers will act within 24 - 48 hours to first ban the account and request the user account to change the profile picture/ logo.

 

The different providers are very expeditious once it comes to any IP infringements.

Any action is much easier if the "logo" is protected as a trade mark.

I wonder if a more direct title is needed for this thread -- such as Danger: Telegram Criminal Running Fake BW Group -- with that change alerting people to what is happening. The current title -- BW Saga -- could be anything and doesn't alert people to the treacherous deception taking place. I also agree that a valid copyright infringement complaint over the logo should be filed to force Telegram to shut down the fake group.
