Duterte To Supporters: I’ll Wait For You In Hell

“We won’t be accepted in heaven. Let’s be frank," President Duterte told his supporters. "So I will just bring you to hell and do not be afraid, I will wait for you there. We will stay together there.”

Duterte To Supporters: I’ll Wait For You In Hell

President Duterte delivers a speech as he inspected the new Overseas Filipino Workers Hospital in San Fernando City, Pampanga on Sunday, May 1, 2022.

Two months before stepping down from office, President Duterte joked about bringing his supporters with him to hell and dethroning Satan before them.

During a campaign rally for senatorial candidate and Taguig Rep. Alan Cayetano on Monday, May 2, Duterte said becoming a president is a matter of destiny and that there is a time for everything.

He reminisced about his political career, saying he was like a star in Davao City and throughout the country once upon a time.

Duterte, who served as Davao City mayor for more than two decades, acknowledged that he would also descend from power.

He then told his supporters not to be afraid of death, even as he joked that only a few of them would reach heaven.

“Most of the people here will go to hell... Do not be afraid, I will wait for you there,” Duterte said. “We won’t be accepted in heaven. Let’s be frank... So I will just bring you to hell and do not be afraid, I will wait for you there. We will stay together there,” he added.

Duterte also asked his supporters not to be afraid of Satan, whom he said he would unseat once he is in hell.

“Do not be afraid of Satan because once you arrive there, I will show you an exhibition, I will proceed to his throne, slap him and tell him, ‘you leave, otherwise I will cut your tail and turn that into bulalo (beef marrow stew),” the President said in jest. Duterte also thanked his supporters for helping him win the presidency and vowed to pay his debt of gratitude to them someday.

Why is this topic even here?

Are you waiting for @Steve5380or @singalionor @InBangkokto comment?

I will certainly comment. I don't give a damn for Duterte and where he ends up. I am much more concerned about his successor. It seems that Marcos' son will soon be the new President. In how many other so-called democratic countries do the sons of extra-judicial murderers, looters and thieves of a monstrous amount of state funds, who declared martial law to aid his crimes, become Presidents? Stand by for a rewriting of Filipino history with Ferdinand Marcos and his dreadful wife Imelda becoming saints. Philippines politics is a prime example of democracy gone crazy.

In my view Duterte was a loss to the Philippines.

And one of the Marcos coming back will probably not benefit the Philippines also.

Duterte did not bring much of his "star image" to the Presidency. I think the hat was a bit too big for him.

Being that business focused in Davao he did not manage to get the same for the whole country.

His speech on "hell" should be a result of his guilt feeling of having contributed to those killings in his country. What an insane drug policy that was to allow

gangsters to shoot people at their will.

As long as the Philippines will not have a politician who is not stuck in corruption, I don't see much future for the Philippines.

Cleaning up this corruption (also as to bring down population by raising education) will be the main political programs for the Philippines

On Marcos: Also note that the wealth of Marcos is still stuck in bank accounts overseas... the son could take influence to channel the monies back to his family.

Marcos is this type of clan gangsters, that they call "political dynasties". If you dig a bit deeper you will see how politics is run to make money and how opposing clans in different political parties sent out gangster killers to kill the opponent on the open street...

In the regional area of Marcos (Luzon North island) this type of "culture" seems to be wide spread.

That cannot be a serious suggestion. Marcos Junior has been part of his thieving mother's extensive attempts to hide the family's wealth stolen from the Philippines Treasury. If he were now to channel those monies back to the country he would be admitting his guilt in the cover up. He would admit to being a criminal.

The Philippines remains ruled by a small number of massively wealthy families while the vast majority of its people are mired in abject poverty. Its politics are the politics of personality and lies rather than policies to improve the lives of ordinary citizens. Marcos Junior has spent years using social media to rewrite history. With so many voters younger than 50, they are far more impressionable than those who actually remember the murders, killings and theft that really happened under the Marcos dictatorship.

The answer to your question could have been America, had Donald Trump been reelected, and there is still a possibility that this abominable criminal or his idiotic Junior could be a candidate for president in 2024.  This family and their close followers are masters of enticement with their lies of improving the lives of citizens... to make them "great again".

Just like how the election of Biden made so many people appreciate Trump more, Marcos should also get elected just so that people will start loving Duterte more.

And where is your evidence that Trump was a murderer on the scale of Marcos?

Phillipine is a very funny country.  People do not vote with their head.  You can put in a celebrity who committed dozen of crimes and with certainty he or she will still become a president.  Background is not relevant in Philippine election, it is almost like a Hollywood show.

3rd world nation, with few jobs and a lot of vanity fare thrown in,  to keep their mundane life meaningful.  Election is like a great entertainment to cure for misery, like picking a lottery ticket not knowing what will come out of it.

I don't know if he was/is directly a murderer, although indirectly he committed manslaughter by covering up the covid pandemic at its start and later bashing safety measures for his personal political gain.  What I wrote is that he is a CRIMINAL,  an undisputable fact.

Who ever wins, it will not stop ghe migration of pinoys to other countries especially Singapore. Anyway, going back to the topic, I believe that Duterte has done no.good for Philippines, he filled them empty promises. Just reactive to covid situation, lacking leadership and accountability. He put the economy down for massive loans from other countries. He depleted the treasury literally. Basically, he put them already in hell.

Indeed. Their country is easy to colonize. Ever since 1800s. Most people are gullible. No wonder they always vote for media and artist personalities. As for Duterte's quote, it should be replaced to Drag Me to Hell

Marcos JR could still employ him as head of  the police drug killer squad... at least he's not wasted, but then he always suffers from headache...

You have been killing fire ants in your backyard as some kind of sport. Are you also free from guilt?

To tell you the truth,  I never thought of being guilty of killing fire ants.

By being vaccinated, have you ever felt guilty for instructing you immunity cells in the body to kill millions of virus and bacteria?
