There is a large proportion of people who had very bad experiences with their fathers. I learned this in a men help group, where nearly everyone had a traumatic relationship with his father. I was an exception. The topic brings tears to my eyes because for so long I would have given everything to have had a life with my father. But I have overcome this. Today I am the father, and I try to be the best one possible to my son. Yet I have never danced with him. How would he take this? Next month on Fathers Day I will visit my son and his family. They will celebrate with a barbeque. Also present will be the father of my daughter-in-law, and I like to cultivate a good friendship with him.
