I am happy for you that you feel you have more self worth and had left your boyfriend. You did say you were young when you met him, and wanted lots of sex with him. My understanding of grooming is to slowly inculcate in the mind of an innocent young man to slowly accept that having sex with the groomer is ok and is the norm. From what I read, in your case, you wanted sex with him - so it does not quite look like the usual grooming to me.
