Which self check out machine is the most user unfriendly?

Mcdonald very difficult to use.  You have to press several menu and yet couldn't even locate the proper checkout.  They expect you to up-size, side dish...etc thus several screens appear to confuse you from checking out fast.  KNS one.  Burger also the same, but slightly better than Mcdonald.  NTUC is best.  Seng Siong not bad, got helper do it for you. Giant always break down or not in service.  Cold storage very few self-check out machines (sometime 2 only).   Ikea also like NTUC, not bad.   Daiso should also implement a self check-out machines, due to its small 5cts change, after price revision.

The best checkout machines are from uniqlo and decathlon. Dun even need to scan your items. You just throw everything in and the sensor will auto detect all the items.

So true. I gave up and went to order from the human beings. Burger King I always checked out quite easily. At Fairprice, I encountered problems several times.  Always have to call for help.

 

Daiso at Jurong point do have self checkout. They do sell pricier items. So far only NETS. The guy beside me wanted to paywave but the staff say cannot.

Yes!! Just put your basket in Uniqlo's machine and out pops the total amount in a flash.  The Clementi decathon don't accept cash. But staff quick to assist. Quite a breeze.

Cheers is the worst. They force customers to put notes and coins into the machine. Most of the time, the notes will be rejected, and the customers will have to keep trying repeatedly. End up, it lengthens the transaction time. Ironically too, there is a cashier standing in front of the customers instructing them to use the machine.

 

It would have been much faster if the cashier just collect the cash from the customers directly. Hahaha.

Some food courts also liddat.  The dollar change took "forever" to dispense to you and you thought they nearly cheat you of your money.

The Popular self-checkout interface did strike me as being very "juvenile".

I'm actually okay with the NTUC and Mac ones.

The Mos Burger and KFC ones are a nightmare to use. If I visit these premises, I always order from the counter.

if im not wrong, the idea started due to prevention of robbery at outlets at midnight.

Those Ikea ones will sometimes ask you to call for staff. The Alexandra one, you have to use the hand held scanner. While at jem, can just scan on the panel.

 

Other than that , quite easy.

Cold storage got a lot lah; must see which branch. The one at plaza sing has quite a lot of self-checkout machines.

The ikea one is okay, except I hate the constant spot-checks initiated by the machine. Basically, the transaction will just hang halfway, until the staff comes and verifies all your items. Then she will unfreeze the transaction by scanning her staff card 🙄

Some of the smaller neighbourhood NTUC outlets are also doing that

i.e. the cashier stands there and tells you to put the dollar bills and coins into the machine.

Basically, the cashiers don't handle any cash.

They don't have the self-checkout machines.

So seems like if you use Nets, the transaction might be faster.

Yup I bought this big item and hand carry. At the exit the staff asked for my receipt. I told her receipt packed in my bag. She ok and I left.🙂

I moved aside and she proceeded to order. The stall holder gave me my takeaway food first.  I really enjoyed that angry look on that indian woman's face. Even the stall holder could not suppress a smile. 🤭
