kidster Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 (edited) How serious is Enlarged Prostate in guys? Edited September 9, 2023 by kidster Quote
Sweetie Pie Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 I went for health screening recently and doc detected I've enlarged prostate. He said it's common for guys 50s and above but I'm too young to get it. He referred me to an urologist. I'm worried but my appointment is quite some time away. I hope to get some advice from those who have similar issue. Usually normal health screening don't cover on prostate screening. Have you been having frequent urination and finding it difficult to regulate your bladder even when there isn't a lot of urine? How did the doctor know you have enlarge prostate, did he poke his finger into your ass to feel it or your blood detected prostate cancer? Usuallly prostate, like kidney, has early stage to end stage cancer. Early stage, they may reduce your prostate thru surgery. End stage, may require more procedure through medication/injection/surgery/radiology...which...may shortern your lifespan. I think technology has improved, so you may need to google for more information. keyboard 1 Quote
keyboard Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 @Sweetie Pie quite smart sia. Yes, usually normal people don't need to go for prostrate screening. That is why, the trend of pre-scanning to detect abnormalities is frowned upon by the medical industry as it's just testing for things that does not need to be tested, Why? Because the human body is built differently for different people and we do not know at what stage is something worth a concern or not, at the earlier stages. For some people, this creates unnecessary stress and worry, and stress is an inducer to cancer - says me. And hor, health screening basically you can get like 10-20 referrals for everything since the screening doctor wont be able to take responsibility for a misdiagnosis. Are you covered by company or personal insurance, you can get a same hour appointment at places like Mount E etc if you're not restricted. The urologist (if private specialist $120-180 consult) is going to do another ultrasound, poke his finger in your butt, then likely going to ask if you want to do a biopsy (intrusive) and risk of infection or damaging nerves, also the result might not be accurate if it didn't hit the cancer cells - false negative. If not, a course of antibiotics and review after a week, and lots of PSA blood test $45 (since that's the cancer marker - your health screening should already have this). The only good part is you know this is your baseline, prostrate is x cm here by y cm there. In future, when the PSA test comes back much higher or grow much bigger will mean abnormality and more worth checking out. And yah, high PSA is not a diagnosis for cancer, just your gland is producing more of the marker for whatever reason. Mister M 1 Quote

keyboard Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 I experience sharp pain in my stomach when pressed so doc did ultrasound of my kidney and bladder for suspected stones and hernia (because I carry weights). No stone or gems found but discovered enlarged prostate. Is it due to excessive sex? haa Yes, I have history of mild Overactive Bladder Syndrome (OBS) in the past due to stress from work but have recovered since then. What is the cause of your pain then? Your partner banged you too hard? THere is nothing to worry about a scope too. Anyways, the causes are still unknow up till now. But it could likely cause by Testosterones & hormonal changes : Men who have had their testicles removed at a young age (for example, as a result of testicular cancer) do not develop BPH. Quote
Guest Pest Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 Could be false alarm. Stomach pain, ache, bloated can be due to several reasons like inflammation after eating wrong kind of food, the weather also can cause discomfort and sex, yah..kena poked left right center can also cause tears and wears...the list is on. Since TS is waiting for his urology result, let see whether it was indeed prostate enlargement or other problems like discovery of huge tap worms in his intestine.🤣 Quote
cutejack Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 Ya just don't over think n waste time n money visiting doctors. U will be fine dear. Some times even doctors can't figure out yr problems cause it's created by God who can only solve the problem end of the day. Take care n cheer up! Quote

But CANCER is a different story. It's symptoms are not the enlarged prostate but a higher reading of PSA (prostate specific antigen) in a blood test. And PSA is not even completely reliable. For the time being, and if your PSA is low, you could simply do what is known to be good for the prostate: take Saw Palmetto supplement, like 300mg of standardized extract daily, eat much tomatoes, like drinking hot tomato sauce, and... it is even recommended to have like 20 ejaculations a month! And, if you are Internet savvy, search for more recommendations. Quote

Well, at age 50, I saw a new doctor. He ordered a PSA test done for the first time. No family history, non smoker, non drinker, healthy weight, etc etc PSA sky high. Repeated, still high. MRI. Biopsy. Pet Scan. Ended up having prostate surgery. Moderately aggressive cancer found. Fingers crossed everything will be OK. All this only this year. Never ever thought it would happen to me. Sux! keyboard Posted September 5, 2023 Posted September 5, 2023 How high was your PSA. Mine been at the 10-11 for close to a decade already. Was your biopsy a positive? How was that experience ah? Cannot imagine a needle there..... Quote

The fact that the high PSA was followed by MRI and biopsy indicates a responsible diagnosis of cancer, which led to the surgery. Hopefully all the cancer was restricted to the removed prostate, and you won't have ever a problem with it again. Quote

How was that experience ah? Cannot imagine a needle there..... Higher PSA is not a completely reliable evidence of cancer, but you may want to pay much attention to the advances of nutritional science, where recent findings of the importance of healthy metabolism and large varieties of plant based foods, supplements, plus time-restricted feeding, can prevent and even reverse the growths of cancers. This, in addition to the multiple health benefits in general. Reject frequent cynicism, and start scouring the Internet for articles on nutrition, in particular at YouTube. If PSA keeps increasing, then some further testing may be wise. A MRI is superior to an ultrasound to diagnose cancer and where it is located in the gland. If cancer is detected, then the data from the MRI can be converted into ultrasound data and used in a biopsy, since the biopsy is guided by ultrasound. . keyboard Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 (edited) There's a trend in the US to do a full body MRI at USD$2500, I just saw today a provider with a waitlist - but didnt state the price. 0-4 is normal Edit: Price for full body MRI is quoted as $4999/-, not sure if going direct to the provider is the same price. Guest Whywhy Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 I also have this health problem. Doc said my prostate size is 30. The normal size is only 20. He said not to worry but I do have some symptons. Waking up in the middle of the night to pee. Did urine test and bacterial is found in my urine but I do not have burning sensation when passing urine. Asked to go for CTScan and PSA next month. Quote
Guest Worrisome Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Now I'm worried. As a bottom who enjoyed getting fucked. Sometimes I feel like the top roughed up my psotrate. There are sometimes after getting fucked I had that urge to pee but no pee feeling. Do you think daily prostrate penetration will cause enlarged prostrate? Due to bruises and healing and etc? Quote

Huh in fact no leh, getting fuck I find is good for the prostrate health from my experience and what I found. You can go and read about that. I don’t know how you are fucked but as long as it is not in a very unusual way, don’t need to worry too much. I sometimes also experience the urge to pee and I find that is normal. Quote
