what are your four bucket list countries?

lets stick to the countries that you want to go but have not been to yet?

you can list as many or as few as you want.

I don't have to visit as many countries as possible. But I do want to visit at least one country in each continent ( excluding Antarctica).

Not yet been to:

South america - Chile

North America - Canada

Want to visit but doesn't have to be a specific country: see the northern lights

Thanks for sharing. I started gtg worried when i never-see-u-share-your 4 Countries... lol

If u don't mind me asking...

I was scammed of $5000 in 2015 & the police told me: "they are a syndicate in Nigeria."

So my question is: why an African Country is in your bucket list? Sorry for being nosy...

One of my bucket list countries is Argentina. From Patagonia to Iguazú Falls, plus the culture and food, really makes it stand out for me as mentioned on this guide here https://gowithguide.com/blog/tourism-in-argentina-statistics-2024-a-comprehensive-travel-guide-5706

My other top picks are:

Mongolia (the landscapes and nomadic culture sound amazing)

Morocco (for the mix of desert, mountains, and historic cities)

Iceland (northern lights and all that geothermal activity)

for northern lights i think it is a matter of luck, rite, u may or may not see it, depending on the timing.  some really cold days / weather may incereasse the chanes of seeing them, i think?

Yes, the sight of the northern lights is very much a matter of luck.

It is visible against a dark sky.  Late autumn, winter and early spring has longer nights, so the possibility of being able to see the northern lights is much increased.

North of the Arctic Circle, summers have almost 24 hours daylight, so it will not be able to seem much (if any at all) northern lights.  But if you want to see the midnight sun, that will be the ideal time and place.

I've been there once.

Guess u will have to stick closely to the planned itinerary and not allow to venture anywhere else on your own.

Yup, I believe foreigners are not allowed to have a 'Free & Easy' trip in the country and are most likely required to join a local tour with a planned itinerary. However, I'm still keen to explore the country one day.

I think scams can originate from anywhere. I had a fraudulent card transaction in France and one from the U.S. even though the closest I got to that country was Canada.

That aside, the ones I want to go to include the following:

- Algeria

- Tajikistan

- Guatemala

- Pakistan

Iceland

Transiberian (waiting for pootin to die)

In 2009, solo.

I took a 25 hours bus from Rawapindi to Gilgit on the Karakoram Highway, the longest bus ride I have ever taken

Oh gawd my butt would have fallen off. But good to know it’s also doable solo. :)

I’m hoping to make it to Pakistan in November next year.

November is good for the rest of Pakistan, but might not be so good for the mountainous regions, especially if you are trekking?

Pakistan is easily solo-able, but some regions you might need an armed escort, or trekking near the border regions in a group with a registered company.
