Should sexual orientation and gender identity be grouped together?

Are TQIA+ getting too militant, pulling in all sorts of social and political issues, resulting in a backlash from the right, and even the centre?

Well, when you start breaking up a group of marginalised people into even smaller groups, it makes it easier to erase them. While I may not agree with everyone, I do believe in their right to existence. Just because the LGB has somewhat become more acceptable and mainstream, it does not mean that we abandon those who stood with us, and by us, when we fought to get there.

 

The reality is that gender identity has been politicized. Trans people have always existed. It was never inherently an issue. It only became one when society decided to make it so. It’s like farting: everyone does it, but all it takes is one person to make a stink out of it.

The true haters will still hate us even if you separate LGB from T. LGB would'nt look better in their view.

LGBTQIA+ + + ...   (  I don't know what the I and A mean, but this does not matter.)   We should be inclusive,  and make a clear separation into two groups:  HATED, and HATERS.  We the hated should accept any newcomer fellow hated, to increase our ranks and so increase our opposing strength against the haters.

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual/Aromantic, and the "+" sign symbolizing other identities not explicitly named in the acronym,

 

It is getting longer by the months, while most affected wish the dicks would get longer by the months... LOL

Thank you for the explanation.  Dicks getting longer by the months?  Dicks are the responsible for all these identities.  I am much in favor of dicks,  but our lives would be much simpler if humans could reproduce asexually,  like some other living creatures.

I don't think a person's behavior and sexual orientation are related. In a similar vein, persons who share the same religion might act in quite different ways.
Therefore, it is reasonable to argue that, even among minorities, people are not always at ease with one another in terms of personal behaviors, attitudes, and mannerisms.  It is too general for TS to say that we are militants with regards to TQIA+. Gay people are less likely than hard-core straight freak to be militants.

Instead of creating further divide, how about we try promoting unity and acceptance for all? The trans community has been extremely important in pushing gay rights forward, the trans community have been fighting alongside the LGB community since the beginning so disowning them would be such a lame cop out.

 

Anyway, the truth at the end of the day is that trans people exist, and they have the right to be, to exist and to be happy like all other human beings. Their ‘militantness’ comes from being oppressed on such a massive scale, and like how countries would defend themselves with hardened armies, so does the trans community.

 

Why would you side with the oppressors? Trans people just want to exist, and that’s it. They are absolutely not the problem.
