Steve5380 Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 Thank you. The more I learn about Diwali the more I like it. After taking religiousness out of it, I seems fully positive. Quote

Could you please clarify: (1) Why you feel a need to separate religion from what is essential a religious holiday, and thereafter to make a pronouncement about how you feel about it (e.g., "...the more I like it" and "...seems fully positive"); and (2) Why would involving the hindu religion make the holiday any less positive? I am really unclear about your comment(s) you have made above, and it can come across as being quite offensive to those who subscribe to the hindu religion and celebrate deepavali / diwali. Diwali is a holiday that surely is not only celebrated by the religious. The same as Christmas is not only celebrated by the Christian believers. We ALL have the common right to believe or to not believe. If I state that I am an agnostic and don't believe, this should not offend you anymore than your belief offends me. Diwali is a "festival of lights" that calls for the promotion of PROSPERITY, a benefit for ALL HUMANITY regardless of beliefs. This I like, prosperity is something positive regardless of religion. And no, I don't believe in Hinduism, and you have the perfect right to not believe in Christianity. Please be more OPEN MINDED. Quote
