radiusulnar Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Due to injury I can't train upper body and so stopped strength training. Thinking of restarting but just legs only. Anyone tried this before? Will it lead to any imbalance? Quote

Have been jogging and doing more leg works to strengthen my lower limbs. Tennis elbow requires strengthening to heal. Stretches and heat massage won't be able to help much because the scar tissue would still remain there, but there are still mandatory. I have multiple episodes of tennis elbow and golfer's elbow, the only way to reduce the pain to none is to strengthen your forearms at least 3 or 4x / week. Search youtube, there is plenty of exercises for tennis elbow. 16 hours ago, radiusulnar said: Shoulder tendon tear You may need to run to physio for it. Avoiding the injured part would further exacerbate the issue and it would take long time to heal. You can still work on your upper body, but in low intensity manner. Like I mentioned above about tennis elbow, the only way to heal tendon tissue is to strengthen it. You will never be able to heal tendon muscles by just completely avoiding it or massage or stretches. The is my experience in weight training. Quote

Wish you (and me) early recovery Yes...i do feel my muscles losing 😔 I was advised by Physiotherapist to avoid weights training. I was also feeling pain when trying to do some light training of biceps and triceps...so thought better take the advice. I just did not expect the recovery process is so long. Thank you, wishing ourselves speedy recovery 😊 Quote
GCONG1 Posted May 4 Posted May 4 @juicyass Thanks for your advice. I have seeing CGH PT and has been doing the strengthening + massage for over 6 months, unfortunately still not much improvement. I will be trying ESWT by the PT in mid May. Hope it helps. Quote
Togsport Posted May 4 Posted May 4 My suggestion would be goblet squats as it targets the quads, glutes and hamstrings as well as the core. @leckmich Like the recommendation of swimming as well. Meanwhile, take care while you recover! Quote
