Security Checks In Singapore

I just got my portable hard disk taken from my checked in luggage away whilst departing singapore (well.. there are some XX contents)... not too sure what will happen next. Anyone have any idea?

Not to scare you but if they happen to dig up your pxxnographic materials, you might be liable to be charged for possession of pxxnographic material which is illegal.

From the Films Act:

Possession of obscene films

30. —(1) Any person who has in his possession any obscene film shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine of not less than $500 for each such film he had in his possession (but not to exceed in the aggregate $20,000) or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both.

(2) Any person who has in his possession any obscene film knowing or having reasonable cause to believe the film to be obscene shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction —

(a) to a fine of $1,000 for each such film in his possession (but not to exceed in the aggregate $40,000) or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both; and

(b) in the case of a second or subsequent conviction, to a fine of not less than $2,000 for each such film in his possession (but not to exceed in the aggregate $80,000) or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years or to both.

Normally if the airport checks the content of the luggage they should stick a "SECURITY CHECKED" tag isn't it? Hmm, now I am suspecting someone opened my TSA lock and took the thing, since that is the only valuable item in the luggage!

Feel sorry for your loss. Though in the first place, you should have packed a portable drive in your hand-carry luggage. I would. For the simple reason that checked-in luggage would be subject to more abusive handling and all the shaking/banging/bumping would not be healthy for the drive or the data.
