Spareview Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Hello people. I've just turned 18 recently. I have never set foot into a Club in my entire life and I would like to visit one for the first time. The thing now is that I'm pretty confused over the admission process; it seems to be extremely complex to me. Would anyone here be nice enough to do me a huge favor by explaining and elborating on the following items/processes? A Guestlist* -- What is it and how exactly does it work? (In clubs such as Zirca & Powerhouse)The Queuing Up -- Am I supposed to join in the queue outside the Clubs as a 'walk-in' and pay $ for entrance when I reach the front of the line? And... who do I pay the $ to?The Entry Proof -- Once I've paid the certain person, what do I get as an entry proof? A ticket? A chop? The Entrance -- Once I've gotten my entry proof, do I just directly proceed into the Club?I apologize beforehand for being so inexperienced and confused. *Confuses me the most Quote

Lonelyboy90 Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 guestlist means if its an event by a popular DJ, they will only limit to certain quantity of guest. so if u are in guestlist, u are confirmed of an entry to the event.of course u have to queue to enter the club, unless you are VIP or sometimes they do have signs for guestlist members to have priority entry. payment to the cashier after the bouncer let u in into the club.some clubs do have a ticket stub for u as a proof of your payment of entrance fee, a chop will be stamped on your wrist as well. the chop is to let the bouncer identify you as a guest instead of a new party-goer who havent pay to gain entry. the ticket stub can sometimes be exchanged for glasses of alcohol in the club at the bar counter.once you have cleared the bouncer and the cashier, the dance floor is all yours. I've heard about guestlists 'closing' at a certain time. Do you know what that means? Thanks! Quote
SomeGuyInSg Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 There will be a separate queue for the guestlist beside the normal queue for 'walk-in'. Other than being a VIP (for whatever reason, eg knowing the management), you can also be on the guestlist through 2 ways:1. Booking a table. If you are having a birthday party or etc, where you intend to open at least one full bottle of alcohol in the club, you may call/email the club in advance to reserve a table. You may also turn up at the door and tell the bouncer you want to open a bottle and have a table. This is limited to table availability as priority of tables are given in: VIP > Regular Reserved Table > Advance Reserved Table > Walk-in Table^Each bottle would entitle you to about 3-5 entries through the guestlist, depending on different club's policy.2. Apply to be on the guestlist. This is less commonly seen. Certain clubs allow you to go to their online portal to apply to be on the guestlist with no conditions. Just enter your name and number of friends you are bringing along online before a certain closing date. One example would be MISMATCH events at butterfactory. Do note that if there are plenty of people who applied for the guestlist online, the queue might turn out just as long as the normal 'walk-in' queue, lol.The entry process (checking of ID, payment, giving of ticket, UV stamp) for 'walk-in' can be of different order in different clubs. Generally speaking, most queue will end outside the club door where the bouncer would check IDs and control number of people entering at a time. You will proceed inside to the cashier to pay, collect your drink ticket and get your UV stamp on the back of your hand/wrist/forearm. There may or may not be bag deposit service (whereby the club will safekeep your belongings and give you a 'bag tag' to collect them later) at the cashier. There may or may not be a bouncer to check your UV stamp as you enter the main part of the club. Quote 23 chn 173 63 trevvy/planetromeo same username up for friends
