looks like local sentiment (twitter/fb) is quite sad but the brits are dancing in the aisles right now...

They maybe celebrating her death, some even put up and created webpages celebarting her demise prematurely like curisng her for years before her death.

She was a tough lady who wanted to shake up Britain and cut out all the welfare cheats , people who did not want to work like lazy Brits hated her , but for all the wrong reasons.

In many ways , her policies were a bitter pill to swallow for a nation used to molly coddling , and the old system bred a generation of people who went out of their ways to cheat the system , and even went to the extent of  " creating their own disability " by falling down stairs deliberately, getting pregnant irresponsibily with their useless teenage boyfriends , who already made pregnant a string of girls , and later they all went on state welfare support because they were too young to work as teens but " dumb " enough to get preggers ( pregnant) ,

She was an amazing lady. Recall watching her famous parliamentary speech where she stood firmly against the house which wanted to embrace the single European currency. 'No, No, No!' she said firmly.

An amazing women who revolutionized Britain, and never lost an election. She showed the world that even a women could hold a powerful appointment and rule with an iron fist.

RIP.  She has more guts than many male politicians who act more like wimps.  Margaret stood up to striking workers, fought a distant war and won.  She is perhaps the best post-war Prime Minister.  And she was not a poodle following after the USA Master.

God bless her soul.

She is and will always be one of history's and Britain's greatest ane revolutionary leading lady. She deserves nth but all due glory and respect, having change and shaped Britain's politcal system greatly, nt the ruckus some of the ignorant brits are throwing. Magaret Thatcher, the iron lady, is definitely in a beta place.

there are two sides to every story... it's hard to please everyone. What matters is that she had the conviction to stick to her beliefs. We do not measure someone's achievement by how many 'right' or 'wrong' decisions they have made, but rather how much they have contributed.

She did a lot to set England moving in the right direction, and that is what matters

Just like Spore.

What has been done these decades by bringing in foreigners to build Spore, has resulted Spore to be what it is today - prosperous, vibrant global city.

Now, Sporeans are critisizing this FT policy, and the strong anti foreigner sentiments are strong in the undercurrents.

I do not know how Spore will move on in the future.

But the credit of what that was done by the government in the past few decades cannot be under-rated just becoz a few Sporean losers cannot compete in today's globalised society.

I acknowledged your post except the last paragraph. People are unhappy with the 3rd gen PAP. Understand that this team is a whole new bunch with almost no link to the original PAP.

Also other countries have implement measures to balance the pro and con that globalisation has brought to them and their citizens. In return/contrast what have the current Sg government done to even the playing field and protect the rights of workers? It is unfair and callous of you to put a label (loser) on people just because they do not agree with your cause and vision. Please reflect.

There are people who do not like her.

There are people appreciate what she have done, while others don't

Margaret Thatcher's bazi (right click) depicts that she good in leadership. 撒切爾命帶宰相格,非得要當總理。

撒切爾一手撑住英國半邊天,算了不起了。要不是她的十年運柱走下坡 and health in amber light,有可能現在仍然是首相。
