Spain: Travel Info On Barcelona

I will be able to provide more information once I get back to my desk in Mid July. Pls wait.

For the time being, for those who are going to Barcelona during the summer period (JUN/JUN/AUG/SEPT), please do not miss out their wonderful beach.

It is just 2 metro station from the Rambla' (central tourist street). You can even walk on foot. it takes about 20 minutes and lots of people to feast your eyes on along the way.

Once you get out of the metro, the beach is about 200 mt away. It is a free beach open to the public. It is also Free in another sense because almost all people are free from swimming costume or swimming trunks (which we are more interested).

This beach stretches for km. Also meaning kilometres of naked bodies lying on the beach. In barcelona, they really do not bother if you are children, women or men. All get naked together. Certainly if you go further upwards to the left, there are less kids and less women. However there are no trees or bushes so unable to do hanky panky. People just go there to relax and to get some sunshine.

In the nights, those bars/huts will hold their own parties for their customers with live di-js playing different kinds of music. You can hop from one hut to another, dancing, without paying anything (unless you drink). They have fire torches etc.

If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.

The food speciality in South Spain (for Southern Spaniards) which I would consider good & suitable for 'asian tounge' is the Paella. Nowadays, their speciality can be found in Northern Spain like Barcelona too.

Paella is a rice dish, originally from Valencia, Spain, where it is traditionally eaten on Sundays. The name paella is the word for "frying pan" in Catalan/Valencian (from Latin patella).

Paella is usually garnished with vegetables and meat or seafood. The three main ingredients are rice, saffron, and olive oil.

Gay saunas in Barcelona.

There are quite a few gay saunas in Barcelona. There are two located close to the top end of Las Ramblas. Sauna Condal and Corinto.

The cleanest I've seen is Sauna Barcelona.

There is another frequented by the younger crowd - Sauna Casanova, which is near the gay district.

In my opinion, the gay saunas in Barcelona are generally far better than those in Madrid.

that is probably true. Barcelona is now the gay capital of Spain.

For those who are fans of sauna and wish to visit Barcelona, try to avoid going in the summer. People tend to prefer exploring the beach, enjoying the sunshine rather than in the sauna. In another words, it is more happening in the beach, the clubs (where there are dark rooms).

There are about 20 gay bars and 10 gay discos in Barcelona. Everyone knows that the Spanish eats late, hence their disco starts at around 3 am.

While waiting for the clubs to open, most guys hang around in the bars. The most popular one is of course "Dietrich". Entrance is free. Usually it is very crowded at around 1.00 am. There is a info stand with free gay maps of most European cities. Good news for the gay traveller.

The crowd is quite young and of international mix. there is a dance floor and good music. 2 drag shows in the weekends. (but don't expect to have fabulous shows like DJ station).

At round 3, you can actually follow the crowd while they proceed or walk to the clubs nearby.

If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.
