Wanna Plan A Trip Together?

The logistics in organising a group tour is rather complex.

There are several things to do, even before the trip.

- date and duration of tour

- size of the grouo

- mix of the group

- budget expected which leads to flight and hotel arrangements

- programme ...etc..

Take for example a simple trip to Bangkok

Date: Week before CNY 2014 for a short 4 days 3 nights

Size: 8 maximum (even numbers)

Mix: Any age group, preferably non-Muslim because the group has to be considerate when consuming food and alcohol

Budget flights - preferably departing late Friday night.

Accommodation: Same area but different standards ... let say, Sathorn's better hotels vs Hotel Malaysia/Etzz Hostel

Programme:

Besides the usual shopping, clubbing and praying at the 4 -faced Buddha,

- a trip down memory lane in Chinatown

- a full day visit to Death Railway

Bonding

There is no need to do it with military precision... if the group is just happy to meet for dinner and drinks before clubbing, so be it.

** I have two weeks leave for next CNY..

I am planning a land tour...across Malaysia (Penang) to Thailand (Hatyai, Hua Hin and then to Bangkok) and beyond

The tentative dates:

25 Jan to 5 Feb

If you are budget conscious, take the bus to Johor Bahru where there are plenty of tour agencies offering inexpensive bus fares.

To save cost, you can take the 11 pm bus as you will be sleeping in the bus and arrive at Genting Highlands around 5 to 6  pm.

There is enough daylight to walk around and walk into the casinos (dont gamble).

There is really nothing much there.

By 7 am, take the cable car to the lower station and then, catch a bus to KL  (Pudu Raya).

The ride down is pretty interesting.

In KL, take a walk along the Padang area where you can see Moorish buildings.

The Chinatown there .. well it is just a night market, nothing much.

Spend more time in Central Market, touristy but at least it is local fare.

If time permits, take a bus to Malacca, the historic city (about 2 hours from KL)

This is the place you want to see.. the old fort, old church, RED-clay Dutch buildings and most importantly, the hybrid culture of Nyona and Baba.

So this may take this as an itinerary to consider...
