To what i know, u still can wear it for suntanning, but not allowed to enter the pool. I was at the pool this morning and the lifeguard tell the guy that wear g-string to change to normal swimwear.

It’s always one that has to spoil it for everyone else. If ppl feel badly about swimmers wearing thongs, then do look at them. You’re there to swim, not judge ppl of their swimwear choices. I can see the point about transparency which should apply to speedos or jammers fwiw.
